  • Publication number: 20240196461
Abstract: Disclosed is a user equipment (UE) configured to perform beam failure recovery with uplink antenna panel selection. In some embodiments, the UE determines a first UE antenna panel corresponding to a candidate beam detection (CBD) reference signal (RS); reports to a gNB a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ), the BFRQ including UE antenna panel information for the first UE antenna panel; and after receiving from the gNB a response to the BFRQ, changes from a second UE antenna panel to the first UE antenna panel and corresponding configuration for uplink transmission.

  • Publication number: 20240196469
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wakeup radio in a wireless communication system, e.g., in 5G NR systems and beyond. An RRC state is introduced to support a wakeup radio/, including defining transition mechanisms to/from existing RRC states. Further, signaling is introduced to activate a wakeup radio/activate an RRC low power state. Additionally, a bandwidth part framework for a wakeup signal is defined in which a base station may configure one or more time/frequency resources or a wakeup signal for a wakeup radio. In addition, various mechanisms are introduced to switch a wakeup radio on as well as to switch a wakeup radio off. Also, mechanisms are introduced for multiplexing multiple wakeup signals in a time/frequency resource, configuring a wakeup signal bandwidth, and configuring which beam a wakeup signal may be received on.

  • Patent number: 12010730
Abstract: A wireless user equipment (UE) device may transmit a random access preamble to a base station, using a physical resource on an uplink signal. After failing to receive an initial transmission of a response message from the base station (BS), the UE device may monitor for one or more retransmissions of the response message. Each of the retransmission may include a corresponding transmission number. As an alternative, each of the retransmissions may be at least partially scrambled using a corresponding Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI). As another alternative, a window for monitoring and RNTI calculation may be extended to include the one or more retransmissions. The successive retransmissions may include the same set of UE-specific payloads, or, a decreasing set of payloads over time as UE devices acknowledge successful receipt of their respective payloads.

  • Publication number: 20240178889
Abstract: Techniques, described herein, include solutions for managing uplink control information (UCI) transmission for a channel state information (CSI) report resulting from measurements of CSI measurement resources. In response to the CSI report exceeding allocated uplink resources of a UCI transmission, a compressed CSI report can be generated by performing an uplink control information (UCI) omission to omit parameters of the CSI report based on components comprising frequency domain (FD) components and time domain (TD) components of the MIMO codebook configuration. The UCI transmission can be generated with the compressed CSI report.

  • Publication number: 20240172049
Abstract: A method is to provide traffic related information in lower layers for an XR system and associated apparatuses. In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) is configured to receive traffic related information from a peer UE or an application server. The UE then transmits the traffic related information to a base station (BS) using a radio resource control (RRC) message such as UEAssistanceInformation as provided by 3GPP technical specifications, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE), or a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH). The transmission of the traffic related information from the UE enhances the wireless communication service for the XR system.

  • Publication number: 20240171356
Abstract: A user equipment (UE), baseband processor or other network device (e.g., base station, next generation NodeB, etc.) can operate to process or generate an acknowledgement (ACK) or a non-acknowledgement (NACK) of a beam report to indicate an autonomous transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state update, which can be a TCI update without a corresponding TCI indication/trigger. The UE can determine the ACK/NACK in response to providing the beam report in the autonomous TCI state update. The UE can then activate a TCI state of the autonomous TCI state update in response to identifying the ACK or re-transmit the beam report for autonomous TCI state update when a NACK is recognized.

  • Patent number: 11990958
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for port selection codebook configuration. A user equipment (UE) may decode a channel state information (CSI) report configuration (CSI-ReportConfig) from a base station. The CSI-ReportConfig indicates up to L CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) ports for selection by the UE out of P CSI-RS ports configured for measuring and reporting CSI. The UE determines selected CSI-RS ports out of the P CSI-RS ports. The selected CSI-RS ports include the L CSI-RS ports or less. The UE generates a port selection matrix W1 corresponding to the selected CSI-RS ports. The UE also generates an indication of the port selection matrix W1 to the base station. The CSI-ReportConfig may further configure the UE to select a subset of frequency basis. The UE determines a selected subset of frequency basis and generates a frequency basis selection matrix Wf corresponding to the selected subset of frequency basis.
