    Abstract: In a present side airbag device for a vehicle, a side airbag has a main bag and an inner bag that is disposed within the main bag. When gas for inflation and expansion is supplied from an inflator to an interior of the inner bag, the inner bag, while inflating and expanding, supplies supplied gas to the main bag. Due thereto, the main bag inflates and expands. At a time of this inflation and expansion, internal pressure of the inner bag becomes higher than internal pressure of the main bag. However, the inner bag is structured so as to be positioned further toward a vehicle rear side than a front edge portion of a door-side side portion of a seat back as seen in side view.

A tether disposed inside this airbag body is folded in such a way that both lengthwise direction sides of the tether are aligned in a direction in which the pair of main panels face each other. One long-side edge portion of the tether is sewn to the pair of main panels and to a front portion of the side panel, and both lengthwise direction sides of another long-side edge portion of the tether are superimposed on top of each other and sewn together.

    Abstract: A vehicle side airbag device with a decreased load on the chest of passenger and an increased initial restraining performance resulting from a side airbag. In the side airbag device, a vent hole portion is formed from the stitching portion between a main panel and a side face panel being interrupted at a portion thereof. Flaps provided to the main panel and the side face panel are inserted from the vent hole portion into the chest chamber. The flaps close off the vent hole portion by means of the internal pressure of the chest chamber until the side airbag inflated and deployed between an occupant and a door trim. When the internal pressure of the chest chamber rise by means of chest chamber being compressed between the occupant and the door trim, the flaps are pushed out of an airbag main body portion, and the vent hole portion is opened.

    Abstract: Lifting up of a side airbag toward a vehicle upper side when there is a side collision is suppressed or prevented. In a side airbag, a tether is provided that divides the side airbag into a lower chamber and an upper chamber. The tether is attached in an attitude that, viewed from a vehicle forward side, is inclined such that a vehicle width direction inner side thereof is higher than the vehicle width direction outer side. A gas jetting aperture is formed at a lower end portion of a diffuser of a gas jetting unit. The gas jetting aperture is disposed in the lower chamber and is oriented toward a lower face of the tether. Therefore, during a process of expansion of the side airbag, gas strikes the lower face of the tether, then strikes portions that have not yet unfolded, and flows downward.

A pushing portion of the shaking reduction member pushes against a side surface of the transport article with a pushing surface thereof in conjunction with the rotating of the fall prevention member from the retracted position to the fall prevention position. A lever portion of the shaking reduction member has one end supporting the pushing portion and the other end rotatably supported in a manner coaxial with the fall prevention member.
