Component (A) contains 72 mol % or more of terephthalic acid component (A1) and from 8 to 28 mol % of isophthalic acid component (A2) with respect to total amount of component (A). Component (B) contains 77 mol % or more of ethylene glycol component (B1) and from 4 to 18 mol % of 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanediol component (B2) with respect to total amount of component (B). Sum of content by percentage of component (A2) with respect to component (A) and content by percentage of component (B2) with respect to component (B) is from 24 to 43 mol %. Content of diethylene glycol component (B3) with respect to total amount of component (B) is 5 mol % or less. Polyester resin has intrinsic viscosity of from 0.48 to 0.67 dl/g.
