  • Publication number: 20260158391
Abstract: In a first case in which a player character is sitting on at least a collision mesh, movement control of the player character is performed at a position on the collision mesh based on an operation input. In a second case in which the player character is not sitting on at least the collision mesh, the player character is caused to fall. When a first portion satisfying a first condition that the collision mesh is not present in a distance downward from a height defined with reference to a height of the player character in a range in a movement direction of the player character is determined, a first limitation is imposed on the movement control of the player character.

  • Publication number: 20260084051
Abstract: An example of an information processing system updates, based on game processing, voxel data in which at least a density and a material are set, and a display mesh is generated and updated based on the density and the material included in the voxel data. A virtual space including the display mesh is rendered based on vertex coordinates of the display mesh and a texture corresponding to the material of the display mesh. When an event occurs based on game processing, the information processing system generates a first voxel update range in a virtual space, and performs update to, in the voxel data, reduce the density of each of voxels corresponding to the first voxel update range in the virtual space, and change the material of each of voxels corresponding to a second voxel update range having a size that encompasses the first voxel update range.

  • Publication number: 20260000978
Abstract: An example of an information processing system generates a display mesh based on voxel data. The information processing system generates a voxel update range in a virtual space, based on game processing, and updates at least one of a density and a material ID, in the voxel data, for each of voxels corresponding to the voxel update range. The information processing system updates the display mesh corresponding to the updated voxel data. The information processing system, based on collision determination between a determination mesh and a determination shape corresponding to a determination target, generates an in-game behavior according to a material of the determination mesh at a collision position. The information processing system renders a virtual space including the display mesh, based on a texture corresponding to the material of the display mesh.

  • Publication number: 20250242249
Abstract: An example of an information processing system can move a player character on a terrain object formed based on voxel data, and if a destruction action of the player character hits the terrain object, sets a destruction range that is a range set in accordance with a position of the player character and has a shape obtained by excluding from a predetermined shape a range below a predetermined surface set based on the position of the player character. The information processing system updates set the voxel data of a voxel included in the destruction range to a value indicating that the terrain object is not present, and creates a polygon mesh based on the updated voxel data.

  • Publication number: 20250242258
Abstract: If a destruction action of a player character hits a virtual object, an example of an information processing system updates a damage value of a voxel in a destruction range, and if the damage value reaches a limit value, the information processing system destroys the virtual object in the destruction range. If the destruction action of the player character hits the virtual object, and if a voxel satisfying a predetermined criterion regarding the damage value is present, the information processing system updates the density of a voxel included in the destruction range, thereby destroying the virtual object in the destruction range.

  • Patent number: 10610782
Abstract: In an example of a game system, switching to an imaging mode is performed according to an operation performed by a player while a game is being performed. In the imaging mode, a virtual camera in a virtual space is rotated in a roll direction according to an operation performed by the player. In the game system, when rotation of the virtual camera in the roll direction represents a value greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold value, information indicating that 90 degrees rotation is to be performed is stored as rotation information of an image. In the game system, according to an instruction from the player, an image displayed on a screen at a time of the instruction, and the rotation information of the image are stored in a storage medium.

  • Patent number: 9616342
Abstract: An example video game system includes user controls and memory for storing a video game program. A processing system including at least one processor executes the video game program to provide a three-dimensional (3D) virtual game world including a player character. The processing system periodically stores in the memory ghost data for the player character as the player character moves in the 3D virtual game world, based on inputs to the user controls, during a first game play session. The processing system generates a ghost character during a second game play session whose movement in the 3D virtual game world is based on the ghost data stored in the memory. The ghost character appears in the second game play session at a time subsequent to the beginning of the second game play session.

  • Publication number: 20160232404
Abstract: An example information processing system performs a process based on a camera image obtained by a camera. That is, the information processing system obtains a camera image, and detects, based on the camera image, an operation of bringing an object (e.g., a hand of a user) into contact with the camera or the vicinity thereof. The information processing system performs a predetermined information process based on the operation detection result. Then, the user can give an instruction to the information processing system by performing an operation of touching the camera. This enables an unconventional operation, and it is possible to improve the controllability of the information processing system.
