  • Publication number: 20160347053
Abstract: According to an embodiment the present invention, a printing apparatus detects a distance between a printhead and a print medium using a sensor while using a print medium for sensor calibration and changing a height from a print position to a carriage, stores first distance information indicating a relationship between the height and a signal representing a result of detecting the distance for each of heights in a memory, obtains second distance information indicating a relationship between the height and the signal representing the result of detecting the distance for each of the heights while using a predetermined print medium and changing the height, compares the first and second distance information, and corrects the first distance information stored in the memory, based on a result of the comparison.

  • Publication number: 20160339911
Abstract: A parking-lot-leaving support apparatus, to execute parking-lot-leaving support to support a vehicle leaving a parking lot, based on a positional relationship between the vehicle and an obstacle in a back-and-forth direction of the vehicle, includes a determination unit configured to determine whether an obstacle exists in a side direction of the vehicle, based on a detection result of a detection unit that detects an obstacle in the side direction of the vehicle; and an inhibition unit configured to, when the determination unit has determined that the obstacle exists in the side direction of the vehicle, inhibit the parking-lot-leaving support in a direction that coincides with the side direction.

  • Publication number: 20160114795
Abstract: A parking assist system includes an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit detects a boundary of a parking space, detects a first obstacle within a detection area set at a back-side position within the parking space on the basis of the detected boundary, determines a target position of a moving path of a vehicle on the basis of the detected boundary, and determines the target position such that the vehicle located at the target position overlaps with the first obstacle.

  • Publication number: 20160075328
Abstract: A parking assist system includes an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to detect an obstacle. The electronic control unit is configured to determine whether a vehicle is allowed to run over the obstacle. The electronic control unit is configured to, when it is determined that the vehicle is allowed to run over the obstacle, set a target position, to which the vehicle moves, to a position at which the vehicle overlaps with the obstacle.

  • Publication number: 20160078764
Abstract: A parking assist system includes an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to detect an obstacle, detect a boundary of a parking space, determine a target position to which a vehicle moves, and, when the vehicle is allowed to be located in a third area in which a first area and a second area overlap with each other, be allowed to determine the target position in the third area. The first area is an area across a limit line from the obstacle. The limit line is set substantially along an outer periphery of the obstacle at a position spaced a predetermined distance from the obstacle outward of the obstacle. The second area is an area out of the boundary.

  • Publication number: 20160075327
Abstract: A parking assist system includes an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to detect an obstacle. The electronic control unit is configured to determine a target position of a moving path of a vehicle. The electronic control unit is configured to determine the target position at a position at which the vehicle is spaced at least a predetermined distance from the obstacle higher than a first threshold and the vehicle overlaps with the obstacle lower than the first threshold.

  • Publication number: 20160078763
Abstract: A parking assist system includes an electronic control unit configured to: set at least one candidate position that is a candidate for a target position of a moving path of a vehicle on the basis of at least one of a detection result of an obstacle and a detection result of a parking boundary; set an orientation of the vehicle at each of the at least one candidate position, as a candidate position vehicle orientation, on the basis of at least one of the detection result of the obstacle and the detection result of the parking boundary; rank each of the at least one candidate position on the basis of an orientation of the vehicle and the candidate position vehicle orientation; and determine one of the ranked at least one candidate position as the target position.

  • Patent number: 8651622
Abstract: A liquid ejection apparatus has an ejection orifice ejecting a liquid, a liquid storage section storing the liquid, a conductive communication path forming member forming a communication path to supply the liquid from the liquid storage section to the ejection orifice, and an electrode provided inside the liquid storage section and used to detect a remaining amount of the liquid. The communication path is electrically connected to the electrode, and the electrical resistance value between the electrode and the communication path contacting the liquid when the liquid is present in the liquid storage section is smaller than the electrical resistance value between the electrode and the communication path when the liquid is not present in the liquid storage section. A recording apparatus incorporating the above features can detect the presence or absence of ink in the recording head with high precision without increasing the size of the recording head.
