Abstract: A virtual machine system includes a first storage unit, a second storage unit, and a processor. The first storage unit includes a storage area allocated for a first virtual machine to operate. The second storage unit stores information stored in the first storage unit. The processor executes a process including detecting a failure of a first virtual machine, generating a second virtual machine when a failure of the first virtual machine is detected and making the second virtual machine perform storing information stored in the first storage unit into the second storage unit, and deleting the second virtual machine when the storing by the second virtual machine is completed.
