    Abstract: A battery temperature adjusting device for a vehicle on which a battery is mounted, the battery being a lithium ion battery disposed near a powertrain unit inside an engine bay, is provided. The device includes a first air duct provided to an intake passage configured to lead intake air to a combustion chamber of an engine, a second air duct provided to the intake passage and provided with an intake opening that opens toward a space between the powertrain unit and the battery, an intake-air-amount adjusting part, and a controller configured to acquire an ambient temperature of the powertrain unit. The controller increases a ratio of the second intake air amount relative to the sum of the first intake air amount and the second intake air amount, when the ambient temperature exceeds a first threshold temperature, compared with when the ambient temperature is below the first threshold temperature.

    Abstract: A cooling system configured to cool an engine of a vehicle is provided, which includes a cooling water passage through which cooling water is supplied to a water jacket in the engine, and having an undercover cooling water passage provided in an undercover and where the cooling water is cooled by exchanging heat with air below the undercover, a radiator provided in the cooling water passage and configured to cool the cooling water by exchanging heat with air flowing into an engine bay from a grille, a flow rate adjuster, a grille shutter provided to the grille and configured to change an effective opening area of the grille, and a controller configured to determine abnormality of the grille shutter and control, when determined as abnormal, the flow rate adjuster to increase the flow rate of the cooling water supplied to the undercover cooling water passage.

The spacer member has a spacer main body surrounding the cylinder bore wall, and a dividing wall protruding toward the jacket outer surface from an outer circumferential surface of the spacer main body. The dividing wall extends in a circumferential direction at a position opposing the introduction port.

    Abstract: A cooling device of a multi-cylinder engine circulates a coolant from a water pump through water jackets of a cylinder head and a cylinder block. The cooling device includes a main jacket of the water jacket of the cylinder head, formed around combustion chambers, an exhaust jacket of the water jacket of the cylinder head, communicating to the main jacket and formed on an opposite side of exhaust ports to the combustion chambers, a circulation system for suppressing that the coolant flows through the main jacket in an engine cold start, by circulating the coolant through the water pump and the exhaust jacket, and a convection suppressor for suppressing that the coolant flows into the main jacket from the water jacket of the cylinder block in the engine cold start, by suppressing a convection of the coolant inside the water jacket of the cylinder block.
