Abstract: In a shoe, an upper has an opening through which a foot of a wearer is inserted when the wearer puts on the shoe, and includes a shoelace tightening region located forward of the opening. A tape member is higher in rigidity than the upper body. A first portion is located in the shoelace tightening region and extends in a front-rear direction of the upper. A folded portion is contiguous to at least one of a front end portion and a rear end portion of the first portion. The folded portion is formed by folding the tape member downward when viewed from the first portion. A second portion extends downward from the folded portion. The first portion is sewn onto the upper body such that gaps through which a shoelace passes are provided between the first portion and the upper body.

A hydrotreating catalyst for a hydrocarbon oil includes: an inorganic composite oxide carrier including alumina as a main component; and an active metal component supported on the carrier, the active metal component including, as active metal species, a first metal which is at least one of molybdenum and tungsten, and a second metal which is at least one of cobalt and nickel, the hydrotreating catalyst for having a Lewis acid amount and a Brönsted acid amount per unit surface area of 0.80 ?mol/m2 or more and 0.03 ?mol/m2 or less, respectively, as measured by pyridine desorption at 250° C. and a BET single-point method.

Abstract: An apparatus is usable to manufacture a filter. The apparatus includes a pleats-forming unit, a first belt part, a second belt part, and a controller. The pleats-forming unit delivers a filter substrate in a first direction and then successively folds the filter substrate into alternate mountains and valleys. The first belt part is disposed downstream of the pleats-forming unit in the first direction. The first belt part contacts with the mountains and valleys of the filter substrate to compress the mountains and valleys of the filter substrate in the first direction. The second belt part is disposed downstream of the first belt part in the first direction. The second belt part pulls the mountains and valleys of the filter substrate in the first direction to form a predetermined pitch between each adjacent pair of the mountains or valleys. The control unit controls a traveling speed of the second belt part.

Abstract: A map generation system provides to: acquire an image of the vehicle's environment from the imaging device; analyze the image to calculate the position of a feature on the road; upload map information including the position of the feature to a server; and statistically determines the coordinates of individual features in the uploaded map information. The features include a reference mark whose absolute coordinates are determined. The coordinates of the features other than the reference mark are corrected so as to match the observation coordinates of the reference mark corresponding to the absolute coordinates of the reference mark.
Abstract: A power supply system includes a plurality of batteries, a cooling portion through which a refrigerant for cooling the plurality of the batteries flows, a housing that has a bottom plate, a top plate, and side walls, the housing accommodating the plurality of the batteries and the cooling portion, and a compressor configured to pump the refrigerant to the cooling portion. In the housing, a strength member that extends in a direction in which the side walls face each other and reinforces the housing is mounted on the bottom plate or the top plate. Abstract: A solder ball bonding (SBB) tool includes a rotatable feed plate for transporting solder balls from a translatable solder ball reservoir to a nozzle unit, which is a position at which a laser light source can irradiate and thus melt the solder balls. The SBB tool includes a gap between the reservoir and the feed plate positioned over the reservoir, and a feed mechanism coupled with the reservoir, where the feed mechanism is driven by a pressurized gas to translate the reservoir upward across at least a portion of the gap in preparation for movement of a solder ball to the feed plate and downward in preparation for rotation of the feed plate after a solder ball is moved to the feed plate. The gap may have a maximum size that exceeds a nominal size of the solder balls contained in the reservoir.
