Abstract: In one embodiment, a mobile merchandise registration device has a display, an input unit, a communication interface, and a control unit. The control unit is configured to display a first screen on the display listing each merchandise item registered as purchase targets in a sales transaction and receive a cancellation operation, via the input unit, for cancelling the registration of a merchandise item as a purchase target. After receiving a cancellation operation, the control unit displays a cancellation operation confirmation screen on the display which includes sales retention information related to the merchandise item that is a subject of the cancellation operation. If the user confirms the cancellation operation via the confirmation screen, the control unit causes the registration of the item to be cancelled from the sales transaction.

A transaction processing server stories commodity codes for items sold by the store. Each commodity code is associated with a deliverable flag indicating whether the item is deliverable. A processor of the server is configured to: determine whether a registered commodity code is a deliverable commodity based on the deliverable flag value associated with the registered commodity code; cause the mobile user terminal to display a decision screen for receiving a selection input from the customer to have the item delivered or not; and register the customer's selection in conjunction with the registered commodity code to permit settlement of the sales transaction including the deliverable commodity.

The control unit calculates congestion values for a store based on the number of occupied seats and the total number of seats in the store, identifies whether the store is in an off-peak state based on a congestion value, and acquire information indicating whether an item ordered by a customer has already been provided to the customer. The control unit determines based on the acquired provision information whether all ordered items for a table have been provided. When the store is in the off-peak state, the control unit causes a coupon to be transmitted to the table for which all ordered items have already been provided to the customers. The coupon grants a privilege associated with the placing of an additional order for an item during the present store visit.
