  • Patent number: 9073484
Abstract: A surrounding area of a vehicle is imaged, and target objects in the area are detected based on captured images. A driver is warned of the presence of the detected target objects by displaying a warning indication on the displayed image. If a total number of simultaneously detected target objects is equal to or less than a specified number, the warning indication of a first display mode is applied in which each target object is emphasized individually. If the total number is more than the specified number, the warning indication of a second warning display mode is applied in which one emphasized indication predefined is displayed for the whole displayed image without displaying the warning indication of the first display mode. The warning image becomes easier to understand for a driver, compared to an image where all detected objects are always emphasized individually regardless of the total number of them.

  • Patent number: 9073505
Abstract: A load sensor detects a load of an occupant on a seat of a vehicle and provides a load signal. A determination section determines a physical size of the occupant by classifying the load signal into a subject class among a plurality of classes ordered from small to large based on threshold loads and performs an inter-class transition of the subject class from a transition source class into a transition destination class based on change of the received load signal. When (i) both the transition source class and the transition destination class belong to an airbag-inflating class that enables inflating of an airbag, and, simultaneously, (ii) the transition destination class is smaller than the transition source class and immediately adjacent to the transition source class, the determination section makes the determined class remain in the transition source class.

  • Patent number: 9074545
Abstract: An air-fuel ratio imbalance detecting device for an internal combustion engine, which detects a rich imbalance in air-fuel ratio among a plurality of cylinders on the basis of a variation per unit time in air-fuel ratio that is detected by an air-fuel ratio sensor provided in an exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine, includes an electronic control unit that normalizes the variation per unit time in air-fuel ratio with a constant associated with a rotation speed and load factor of the internal combustion engine and that, when the normalized value is smaller than a predetermined threshold, determines that a rich imbalance in air-fuel ratio has been detected among the cylinders.
