  • Patent number: 10960693
Abstract: After an ejector passes an ejection end position, a controller controls a second conveyor to convey a sheet in a sub-scanning direction. The ejection end position is a position at which ink ejection by the ejector ends before reaching a turn position. An ejection start position is a position at which ink ejection by the ejector starts after turning at the turn position. Based on positional relationship between the ejection end position and a standard position, the controller adjusts timing of conveyance of the sheet or shift the turn position from the standard position in a direction of reducing an overlap between a sheet conveyance period after the ejector passes the ejection end position and an ejector deceleration period before the ejector reaches the turn position. The standard position is a standard turn position of the ejector and is determined from the ejection end position and the ejection start position.

  • Publication number: 20210070576
Abstract: An image recording apparatus is provided, including a casing; a tray which is to be installed to the casing by being inserted in a first orientation and which is to be withdrawn from the casing in a second orientation that is opposite to the first orientation; a sheet conveying passage; a platen; a recording part; and an interlock which moves the platen while being interlocked with movement of the tray in the first orientation or movement in the second orientation. The platen is movable to a printing position and a release position. The interlock moves the platen from the printing position to the release position while being interlocked with the withdrawal of the tray from the casing or the insertion of the tray into the casing.

  • Patent number: 10850500
Abstract: A controller is configured to determine which of a first position and a second position is located at a farther downstream side in a moving direction of an ejector and to set a determined position as a turn position. The first position is a first distance away from an image formation end position in the moving direction. The second position is a second distance away from an image formation start position in the moving direction. The image formation end position is an end position of image formation onto a sheet in a conveyance process of the ejector before turning at the turn position. The image formation start position is a start position of image formation onto the sheet in a conveyance process of the ejector after turning at the turn position. The second distance is longer than the first distance.

  • Publication number: 20200276844
Abstract: A carriage is configured to move by receiving driving force from a carriage motor. A recording head is mounted on the carriage. A controller is configured to: control a power supply to supply a first driving current to a drive target, the first driving current being variable; when a second driving current for driving the carriage motor does not exceed a limiting current, control the power supply to supply the second driving current to the carriage motor, the second driving current being variable, the limiting current being obtained by subtracting the first driving current from an allowable current of the power supply; and when the second driving current exceeds the limiting current, control the power supply to supply a limited second driving current to the carriage motor, the limited second driving current being obtained by cutting a part of the second driving current, the part exceeding the limiting current.

  • Publication number: 20200238739
Abstract: A slide member slides in conjunction with reciprocation of a carriage. The slide member slides between a first position and a second position to cause a switch gear to move between a plurality of slide positions at which the switch gear engages respective ones of a plurality of transmission gears. The slide member at the second position is closer to a first end of a shaft than the slide member at the first position is. A first cover covers a first sliding contact portion of the shaft over an entire range of the first sliding contact portion in a main scanning direction. The slide member is in sliding contact with the first sliding contact portion when the slide member slides between the first position and the second position. The first sliding contact portion is closer to the first end than the slide member located at the first position is.

  • Publication number: 20200101720
Abstract: A controller is configured to: when both a first conveyor and a second conveyor are operating concurrently, determine whether a reference current value exceeds a threshold value, the reference current value being obtained based on at least one of a first driving current that is a driving current of the first conveyor and a second driving current that is a driving current of the second conveyor; in response to determining that the reference current value exceeds the threshold value, continue an operation of an earlier-driven conveyor that is one of the first conveyor and the second conveyor that is started at earlier timing, and temporarily stop an operation of a later-driven conveyor that is one of the first conveyor and the second conveyor that is started at later timing; and after a driving current of the earlier-driven conveyor drops to a particular standard, restart the operation of the later-driven conveyor.

  • Patent number: 10406836
Abstract: In an image recording apparatus, a peak load that is the highest load applied to a carriage moving in a first direction in a first load region is highest at a first highest-load position. A second load is highest at a second highest-load position of a second load region. In a retry processing, when a stop position of the carriage which is detected by a detector is located between the first highest-load position and the second highest-load position, the controller moves the carriage in the first direction toward a target position after moving the carriage from the stop position in a second direction to a first retry position located downstream of a restoration position in the first direction.
