  • Publication number: 20230369677
Abstract: A battery pack includes battery cells and a spacer arranged between two adjacent battery cells. Each battery cell includes an electrode body and a case. The electrode body includes an upper curved portion, a flat portion, and a lower curved portion. The spacer presses one side wall of the case of one of the adjacent battery cells toward an inner side of the case at a part where the side wall opposes a region from the upper curved portion to the lower curved portion. The spacer forms passages for cooling air between the spacer and the side wall. A first cooling efficiency of the cooling air per unit area at a first opposing portion of the side wall that opposes the upper curved portion is less than a second cooling efficiency per unit area at a second opposing portion of the side wall that opposes the flat portion.

Abstract: A manufacturing system for a battery pack includes a front-half unit that applies a first pressure to press a stack in a single direction for a certain period of time and a rear-half unit that then causes a restraining member to restrain the stack while applying a second pressure smaller than the first pressure to press the stack in the single direction. The front-half unit includes a front-half pressure application portion that presses the stack and a front-half restriction portion that restricts a position of the stack. The front-half pressure application portion presses the stack with the front-half restriction portion in contact with the stack. The rear-half unit includes a rear-half pressure application portion that presses the stack and a rear-half restriction portion that restricts the position of the stack. • Patent number: 10629887
Abstract: When a temperature inside a secondary battery becomes high and a gas pressure inside a battery case increases, an inversion plate is pressed due to the gas pressure so as to project and curve in a projecting manner toward an external terminal board. Due to such a deformation, a load is transmitted to a current interruption piece via a load transmission portion. At this time, due to a pushing-up force of the load transmission portion, a vulnerable breaking portion forming part of a peripheral edge of the current interruption piece breaks, so that the current interruption piece is displaced to bend in a V-shape via a folding portion. As a result, the secondary battery is brought into an unusable state. Such a configuration can attain simplification of a structure to interrupt a current.
