  • Patent number: 6658072
Abstract: In the transmission device, a synchronization pattern made by arranging a predetermined basic pattern consisting of a combination of a predetermined number of symbols and a reversal basic pattern made by reversing a polarity of each symbol of the basic pattern, in the order according to a reversal pattern, is generated, and transmission data obtained by adding thus obtained synchronization pattern at predetermined timing is transmitted. In the reception device, the basic pattern and reversal basic pattern in the synchronization pattern are correlated with each other by a matched filter (11) corresponding to the basic pattern, and the correlation of the reversal pattern which appears in a signal obtained as a result, is taken by a matched filter consisting of delay portions (12), multipliers (13) and an adder (14).

  • Patent number: 6510187
Abstract: A multiplier multiplies a baseband signal with a scramble code generated by a CPICH scramble code generator and an integrator integrates the result of the multiplication. A symbol selection control unit controls the integrator such that the integrator integrates each of two successive slots in which combinations of the symbols transmitted from two antennas of a base station are the same, in accordance with the information about the synchronous positions of the slots and frames. The result of the integration is delayed by a 1-symbol delay unit and then a code of a complex component is inverted by a complex conjugate unit. A multiplier multiplies the outputs of the integrator and complex conjugate unit, which are shaped in a complex number, to obtain an amount of phase rotation between the successive symbols, i.e. a frequency error.

  • Publication number: 20010050902
Abstract: A control cycle discriminating section sets a control cycle T of transmission power to be a short cycle Tl when the fluctuation rate S is lower than a reference value S1 or equal to or higher than a reference value S2, and sets the control cycle T to be a long cycle Ts when the fluctuation rate S is equal to or higher than the reference value S1 and lower than the reference value S2. A power controlling section controls transmission power of a transmitting section with the control cycle T. In a mobile station, a power detecting section averages reception power of a radio frequency (RF) signal transmitted from the base station, with the control cycle T, and measures the averaged reception power. A TPC bit generating section compares the measured power with a reference value, generates the TPC signal and transmits the TPC signal to the base station.

  • Patent number: 6192066
Abstract: A RAKE receiver includes an arithmetic circuit for weighting coefficients. The arithmetic circuit obtains the signal power for each path from the reception amplitude on the path which is detected by a transmission path characteristics detector, and also obtains the interference powers from the reception amplitudes on two other paths which are respectively detected by transmission path characteristics detectors. The arithmetic circuit then calculates the weighting coefficients on the basis of the these signal powers and interference powers. The weighting coefficients are respectively supplied to weighting multipliers, thereby weighting the reception signals from the respective paths. A symbol synthesizer performs symbol synthesis of the resultant signals.

  • Patent number: 5983113
Abstract: With a CDMA mobile communication system of the present invention, the phase difference sensing circuit of the base station senses the phase difference with respect to a reference phase from the cross-correlation value of the up-link channel signals coming from mobile stations and sends timing control information for compensating the phase difference closer to zero to the mobile stations. Then, in each of the mobile stations, the transmission timing control circuit variably sets the amount of delay in the delay circuit of the modulation circuit according to the timing control information sent from the base station. This enables the transmission timing of the transmission signal of each of the mobile stations to undergo delay control, maintaining the orthogonality between the individual up-link channel signals at the base station.
