  • Patent number: 6646098
Abstract: The present invention relates to a polycarbonate resin molding material for optical use which contains substances (A) having a 5% weight reduction start temperature measured by thermogravimetric analysis of 400° C. or less in a total amount of 1 wt % or less and to a polycarbonate resin molding material for optical use which contains substances (A) having a 5% weight reduction start temperature measured by thermogravimetric analysis of 400° C. or less in a total amount of 1 wt % or less and a sodium compound in an amount of 1 ppm or less in terms of metal sodium. The present invention also relates to optical disk substrates formed from these molding materials. According to the present invention, use of each of the above molding materials makes possible the continuous molding of an optical disk substrate and the obtained optical disk substrate has high quality and can retain reliability for a long time as an optical disk for a high-density recording medium.
