  • Publication number: 20020021628
Abstract: A recording and/or reproducing apparatus for recording and/or reproducing signals on and/or from a recording medium includes a recording and/or reproducing portion for recording and/or reproducing signals on and/or from the recording medium, a carrying portion for carrying the recording medium, and first and second sliders. The first slider is movable in one direction for moving the carrying portion together with the recording medium up to a specific withdrawal position. The second slider is movable in a direction being substantially the same as the one direction for moving the recording medium carried by the carrying portion to a recording and/or reproducing position corresponding to a position of the recording and/or reproducing portion. The first slider and the second slider are overlapped to each other in the vertical direction.

  • Publication number: 20010030929
Abstract: A disk centering apparatus includes a disk table member and a movable member. An inner circumferential portion of the disk table member is secured to an upper portion of a motor shaft. An outer circumferential portion of a greater diameter is disposed lower than an upper surface of and concentrically with the inner circumferential portion and has an upper surface for receiving a disk thereon. A plurality of connecting portions extend radially outwardly from the inner circumferential portion to connect the inner and outer circumferential portions to each other. The movable member includes a supported shaft portion mounted for sliding movement on the motor shaft and disposed lower than the disk table member. A guiding portion is provided adjacent an outer surface side of the supported shaft portion for integral movement and fitted in a space defined by the inner and outer circumferential portions and the connecting portions.

  • Patent number: 5901130
Abstract: A loading unit for a disc cartridge includes a cartridge holder movably supported relative to a chassis. The cartridge holder is moved towards a recording and/or reproducing device for recording and/or reproducing information signals on or from a recording medium housed within the disc cartridge. The cartridge holder is configured to hold the disc cartridge inserted therein and has an engaging recess and an insertion detector. The insertion detector is moved in response to the disc cartridge being inserted into the cartridge holder. A stop mounted on the cartridge holder has a retention portion for retention by the chassis and an engaging protrusion for engagement with the engaging recess of the disc cartridge. The stop is slidingly contacted with the chassis in conjunction with movement of the cartridge holder towards the recording and/or reproducing device.

  • Patent number: 5684777
Abstract: A recording and/or reproducing apparatus for a magneto-optical recording medium housed within a disc cartridge. The recording and/or reproducing unit includes a magnetic head for applying a perpendicular magnetic field to the magneto-optical recording medium. A transporting unit includes a holding section for holding the inserted disc cartridge and a pair of cam members for moving the holding section in horizontal and vertical directions in a casing. The cam members are moved a first horizontal displacement as a result of insertion of the disc cartridge and set a driving unit into an operating state. The cam members cause the holding section to be moved in the horizontal direction by a second horizontal displacement of the cam members. The cam members cause the holding section to be loaded on the recording and/or reproducing unit by a third horizontal displacement continuous with the second horizontal displacement.
