  • Patent number: 4750019
Abstract: An electrophotographic apparatus adopts the reversal developing system where an electrostatic latent image charged in the positive polarity on the surface of a photosensitive drum by toner charged in the same positive polarity. The photosensitive drum is composed of Se series or OPC (organized photo-conductor) series material, and a discharging light source and a charging corotron which are installed in a common cover are disposed on the peripheral side surface of the photosensitive drum. The charging corotron is disposed downstream from the discharging light source in a direction of rotation of the photosensitive drum. In the common cover, a partition through which part of light of the discharging light source leaks to an area charged by the charging corotron is installed between the discharging light source and the charging corotron. Accordingly, on part of the surface of the photosensitive drum, discharging and charging are performed in an overlapped manner.

  • Patent number: 4675266
Abstract: This invention relates to an electrostatic developing method for a copier, a printer or the like, and more particularly to a developing method using a one-component developer. This invention can prevent inverse electrification of the developer, which is one of the main causes of producing foggy and a fringed images, by forming the developer into a very thin layer with a doctor blade and the like, can obtain a sharp and fine image by pressing a developer holder to a latent image holder and impressing an AC bias between them, can prevent the fringe image by eliminating the unnecessary developer which adheres to the latent image holder, and can realize a high-speed development without complicated apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4666281
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive member on which an electrostatic latent image is formed. The electrostatic latent image is developed by toner and the toner image thus developed is transferred on a copying paper. A stopper is provided in the path of the copying paper to a transferring station. A first paper path for manually feeding paper, and a second paper path is provided for automatically feeding paper. The first and second paths join each other at an upstream side of the stopper. Downstream of the junction of the two paths is formed a common path in which the stopper is disposed. In the common path at the upstream side of the stopper, there is arranged a sensor for sensing the presence of copying paper. In an automatic feeding mode, when a signal is not given from the sensor within a predetermined period of time after a paper feed roller is operated, the occurrence of a jam will be detected.

  • Patent number: 4666286
Abstract: An apparatus for scanning an original comprises an original table for receiving an original, the table having protrusions on its underside corresponding to a home position (HP), a starting position (SP), and a forward going position (FP), respectively, whereby microswitches are located for sensing the protrusions as the original table moves back and forth, for producing digital signals indicative of the original table being at one of the aforesaid positions at a given time.
