  • Publication number: 20120302377
Abstract: A golf ball provided with elliptical dimples. A golf ball provided with non-circular dimples, configured by forming the dimples in the surface of a sphere or of a pseudosphere which consists of a polyhedron. The dimples have a non-circular shape which has a major axis having a length at least 1.2 times greater than that of the minor axis of the shape, are each composed of a pair of circular arcs, and have a depth which causes the peripheral edges of the dimples to generate turbulence. The configuration reduces the separation width at the separation boundary to a level less than that of a golf ball having circular dimples, and this decreases the drag. The polyhedron can be substantially composed of triangles, pentagons, or hexagons.

  • Patent number: 8065880
Abstract: A premixed combustion burner for a gas turbine can efficiently premix fuel and air to produce fuel gas having a uniform concentration, while reliably achieving prevention of flash back by making the flow rate of fuel gas substantially uniform. The premixed combustion burner for a gas turbine has a fuel nozzle, a burner cylinder arranged so as to surround the fuel nozzle and form an air passageway between itself and the fuel nozzle, and swirler vanes that are arranged along an axial direction of the fuel nozzle in a plurality of positions around the circumferential direction of an outer circumference surface of the fuel nozzle. The swirler vanes gradually curve from an upstream side to a downstream side to spin the air traveling within the air passageway from the upstream side to the downstream side. A cutaway section is provided in a rear edge section on an inner circumference side of the swirler vanes.

  • Publication number: 20090017936
Abstract: The present invention improves putting performance of a golf putter by balancing a torsional moment of the putter head. Golf putter includes a weighting member (W) having a weight of 15 g or more that is positioned at a distance of 1 cm or more away from an upper face of a putter head (H) toward a shaft (S). The weighting member performs a function of shifting a center of gravity of the putter toward a heel thereof and shifting a center of impact of the shaft toward a putter grip (G). Thereby, the weighting member enables a better putting by preventing off-center hitting of a putting face of the putter and preventing off-direction moving of the putter head and grip (G) at the time of putting.

  • Patent number: 6634175
Abstract: A gas turbine combustor has homogenous air inflow by elimination of turbulence from the air, reducing combustion instability. A combustor 3 has, at its center, a pilot nozzle 8 and eight main nozzles 7 around the pilot nozzle 8. The air flows in around the individual nozzles 7 and 8 to the leading end of the combustor 3 so that it is used for combustion. An annular flow ring 20, having a semicirculat section, is disposed at the upstream end portion of a combustion cylinder 10, and a porous plate 50 and a surrounding rib 51 are disposed downstream of the flow ring 20. The air inflow is smoothly turned at first by the flow ring 20 and then straightened by the porous plate 50 so that the air flows without any disturbance around the individual nozzles 7 and 8 to the leading end, thereby reducing combustion instability.

  • Patent number: 6460339
Abstract: A gas turbine combustor improves the fuel distribution from a main fuel nozzle, suppressing fluctuations of internal pressure and elevation of inner tube metal temperature, and enhancing the combustion stability and durability of the combustor. The gas turbine combustor is a multi-nozzle type premixing combustor with a nozzle outer tube (7) for forming and injecting a premixed gas of main fuel and combustion air divided and disposed in plural sections around a cone (4) for forming a diffusion flame by reaction between pilot fuel and combustion air disposed in a center of a section of a combustor inner tube (1). Nozzle holes (5a) of a main fuel nozzle (5) are formed in three positions at equal intervals on the nozzle main body wall, and one of them is disposed at the outer periphery of the combustor inner tube (1) on a diametral line linking between the center of the combustor inner tube (1) and the center of the main fuel nozzle (5), whereby the fuel distribution to the outer periphery is decreased.

  • Patent number: 6343792
Abstract: A shaft seal having a high abrasion resistance is disclosed, by which the leakage of the gas from the high-pressure side to the low-pressure side can be reduced. In the shaft seal, flexible leaves are multi-layered to form a ring shape. The shaft seal is mainly arranged around the rotation shaft of a gas turbine or the like. The relevant turbine comprises a casing, a compressor, a rotation shaft, moving blades attached to the rotation shaft, and stationary blades attached to the casing in a manner such that the stationary blades face the moving blades, wherein the shaft seals are provided between a plurality of stationary blades and the rotation shaft wherein the leaves of each shaft seal contact the rotation shaft. Under the rated operating conditions, the top ends of the leaves slightly separate from the surface of the rotation shaft due to the dynamic pressure generated by the rotation of the rotation shaft.
