  • Patent number: 5324547
Abstract: A method of applying a metallic paint to an object conveyed by means of a conveyor, by reciprocating one or more rotary atomizing electrostatic painting machines at right angles to the direction in which the object is conveyed. The speed of the reciprocation of the painting machines is controlled according to the speed of the conveyor so that the pitch between the adjacent orbits of the strokes of the reciprocation of the machines drawn on the object may become a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 5139003
Abstract: A distributor for an internal combustion engine comprising a base plate (20), a resin-molded ignition coil unit (21) and a resin-molded control unit (30) in a stacked relationship with their side circumferential surfaces exposed to define a portion of an outer surface of the distributor. A distributor cap (2), a cover (10) for covering the control unit are fastened to the base by a screw (32) extending through these components, and the ignition coil unit is attached to the base through a screw (24) extending through a bushing (23). The resin-molded ignition coil unit (21) may comprise an L-shaped external-connection connector (28, 37) integrally formed on the exposed side surface. The electrical connection between the ignition coil and the control unit may be established by a plug-in type connector (38, 39).

  • Patent number: 5134257
Abstract: A distributor rotor electrode comprising an electrode head having a pair of flat surfaces substantially parallel to a plane of rotation of the rotor electrode and a generally arcuated, convexed discharge surface perpendicular to the plane of rotation to define a discharge gap on it. The electrode head has an electrically high-resistance layer attached to at least the pair of substantially flat surfaces, and comprises a material including a ceramic effective to suppress noise electromagnetic wave radiation at the discharge surface. The high-resistance layer material may comprise 10% to 70% of SiC and a mixture of SiOx, Si and C and may be attached to the discharge surface as well as to the flat surfaces, or to the flat surfaces only to expose the arcuated discharge surface to the discharge gap. The arcuated discharge surface may have ridges and grooves extending generally perpendicularly to the plane of rotation, and may have a wave-shaped or comb-shaped contour.

  • Patent number: 5110632
Abstract: There is disclosed a method of painting an object by reciprocating a plurality of painting machines perpendicularly to the direction in which the object is conveyed on a production line. The delivery of paint from the painting machines is cut off at each turn of the orbits drawn by the adjacent ones of the reciprocating painting machines which create overlapping orbits. The starting points and the ending points of the cutoff for the adjacent machines are placed on the same straight line on the object.

  • Patent number: 4915599
Abstract: A coating material supply device in which coating material is pumped out at a predetermined flow rate and supplied at a constant flow rate to a coating machine. The device includes a plurality of double-acting reciprocal pumps, each having an inlet for the coating material supplied from a coating material supply source and an exit for discharging the coating material by the pressure of hydraulic fluid supplied at a constant flow rate from a hydraulic fluid supply source. The exits are connected to coating material selection valves connected in parallel with each other to the coating machine, and connected to switching valves that selectively switch the flow channel for the hydraulic fluid supplied from the hydraulic fluid supply source in response to the switching operation of the coating material selection valves.

  • Patent number: 4844706
Abstract: A coating material supply device capable of accurately supplying even a highly viscous coating material such as a two-component coating material by a constant amount to a coating machine with no trouble, as well as with no requirement of individually disposing flowmeters, e.g., for respective colors in the case of multicolor coating under color-change.
