  • Patent number: 4976678
Abstract: A centrifugal separator which enables extraction of particles as concentrated liquid of a uniform concentration under a low pressure without damaging to the particles and is particularly suitable for extraction of weak cells such as animal cells. The centrifugal separator includes a plurality of particle collecting chambers (104: 104a) partially defined by an inner wall face (121) of a rotor (103) the diameter of which increases substantially continuously and suddenly comparing with the diameter of another adjacent portion for the inner wall face of the rotor. Particles centrifugally separated from liquid in a separating chamber (109) in the rotor are introduced into the particle collecting chambers in which they are accelerated suddenly to form soil suspension having an increased fluidity. The soil suspension is then introduced into horizontally extending deriving pipes (105: 105a: 105b: 105c: 105d: 105e) of a small sectional area and then extracted to the outside by way of an extracting pipe (118).

  • Patent number: 4840814
Abstract: Calcium enriched milk or toned milk prepared by adding a water soluble calcium salt of an organic acid to thermally sterilized milk or toned milk, and adjusting the pH value of the obtained mixture to 6.6 or above is disclosed.Calcium enriched milk or toned milk which formes no precipitate can be successfully prepared by adding a water-soluble calcium salt of an organic acid to milk or toned milk which is previously sterilized by heating and adjusting the pH value of the mixture to 6.6 or above.

  • Patent number: 4673583
Abstract: A method of producing an aseptic calcium-enriched soy bean curd is disclosed. The method includes the steps of adding a calcium hydroxide-sucrose complex as coagulant to the soy bean milk, sterilizing the resulting mixture by heating, adjusting the pH value of the sterilized product to weakly acidic, charging the sterilized product into a container under an aseptic condition and sealing the opening of the container, and coagulating the calcium hydroxide-sucrose complex as coagulant to the soy bean milk by heating. When the calcium hydroxide-sucrose complex used as coagulant is insufficient to provide the required extent of calcium enrichment, calcium lactate may be added in an aseptic atmosphere after the sterilization process as at the time of pH adjustment.

  • Patent number: 4152976
Abstract: An apparatus for topping a succession of regularly spaced pizzapie crusts on a conveyer with sliced topping material, such as cheese, comprising slicing means to cut blocks of the material on the conveyor into slices of appropriate shapes and sizes, and an automatic weighing means to supply appropriate amounts of the sliced material to the pizzapie crusts. The apparatus further includes an electrical control means which controls the operations of the above-mentioned means so that the operations will have a timed relationship with the movement of the pizzapie crusts, thereby placing each amount of sliced material on top of the corresponding pie crust with accuracy and without loss.
