  • Patent number: 5535789
Abstract: First and second dies are movably opposed to each other. The second die is for pinching a package and a lead wire of the package in cooperation with the first die with a portion of the lead wire that protrudes from the first and the second dies. A slidable base is slidably supported on a die surface of the first die and has an inclined surface. A base pushing rod is movable in a direction which is substantially perpendicular to a base surface of the slidable base. The base pushing rod has an inclined rod surface which is opposed to the inclined surface. A spring urges the slidable base to make the inclined base surface be brought into contact with the inclined rod surface. The base pushing rod moves the slidable base towards the package together with one end portion of the lead wire that is supported on the slidable base when the protruded portion of the lead wire is pushed by the wire pushing member. The slidable base may have a cam follower internal surface which defines a cam hole.

  • Patent number: 5534502
Abstract: Stable homogeneous fatty emulsions containing amphotericin B are prepared. According to one embodiment, amphotericin B is decrystallized using an acid and ethanol and then homogeneously dispersed in a lipid, following which it is emulsified.According to a second embodiment, amphotericin B crystals are kneaded until their presence can no longer be confirmed and the decrystallized amphotericin B is thereafter uniformly dispersed in a lipid and, thereafter, emulsified.

  • Patent number: 5478301
Abstract: To watch the condition of tools mounted on a turret punch press and an automatic tool changing unit, a control device performs a simulation of a punch processing on the basis of an NC program for the turret punch press. On the basis of the simulation, the control device calculate the number of times for which each tool mounted on the punch press performs punchings in the workpiece during the punch processing. From the number of times, the control device determine the abrasion loss of the tools mounted on the punch press and the automatic tool changing unit. The control device is also adapted to store a length by which a tool is shortened by a grinding processing to be made in a tool to sharpen the same.

  • Patent number: 5381356
Abstract: A cascade digital filer has a plurality of cascade-connecting pairs of integrators and differentiators to realize a transfer function obtained by cascade-connecting a plurality of moving average filters. Each of the integrators includes an adder which has a two's complement operating function which inverts its polarity on overflow. Each of the differentiators also includes an adder which has the same number of bits and the same function as does the adder of integrator. The adder in each of the integrators and differentiators prevents the output of the digital filter from diverging, thus resulting in normal filtered output.

  • Patent number: 5318496
Abstract: In order to insert a punch into a punch mounting hole formed in a turret by a robot hand, the present method includes the following steps: (a) grasping the punch above the upper turret by a robot hand, and horizontally moving the punch to a position above a mounting hole formed in the upper turret; (b) moving the punch downwardly by the robot hand; (c) detecting whether the lower end of the punch is in contact with the wall of the mounting hole (d) detecting the height of the lower end of the punch when the lower end of the punch comes in contact with the wall of the mounting hole; (e) comparing the detected height of the lower end with a predetermined height; and (f) further moving the punch downwardly if the detected height is smaller than the predetermined height. In the preferred embodiment, if the insertion in accordance with the previous steps fails, the punch is moved upwardly and the center of the mounting hole is re-calculated on the basis of the data by a three-point search method.

  • Patent number: 5259100
Abstract: An air powered milling tool supported in the upper turret of a turret punch press is cycled simultaneously with a hydraulically- or mechanically-powered punch press ram in a multiple-stage cycle to perform a milling operation on a sheet material workpiece retained between the upper and lower turrets of the punch press. The air-powered tool, which includes a punch head in coaxial alignment with a guide sleeve, drives an end mill which is contained within and is coaxially extendible through the guide sleeve toward the workpiece to perform a machining operation thereon. Hold-down bearings disposed at the end of the guide sleeve engage with the workpiece at a local region thereof. A spring-biased lifter disposed in the upper turret is engagable with the guide sleeve. In operation, the punch press striker impacts the punch head of the milling tool, urging the milling tool and air motor in the direction of the sheet material.

  • Patent number: 5157543
Abstract: An apparatus for changing the direction of an optical beam comprises a thin film grating deflector; an optical energy source for providing optical energy to strike the deflector at a first angle with respect to gratings of the deflector and to exit the deflector at a second angle with respect to the gratings; and elements for applying a voltage to the deflector to vary the second angle. The optical energy source preferably comprises a laser diode; and a collimator for coupling energy from the laser diode to the grating deflector. The grating deflector is a planar waveguide including a plurality of stacked quantum wells formed of GaAs separated by barriers of AlGaAs. Optical energy provided to the grating deflector in a first direction is deflected in a second direction. These directions define a plane in which the waveguide is disposed. The quantum wells are stacked in a direction perpendicular to a plane of the waveguide.
