  • Patent number: 6616560
Abstract: A shift control apparatus that advances activation of an engagement element to be engaged during a shift requiring engagement and release of four engagement elements, thereby reducing the shift time. The automatic transmission achieves a sixth-to-fourth-to-third shift by controlling servo pressures for the four engagement elements. The control apparatus starts, during the time of the sixth-to-third shift, supply of the hydraulic pressure for activating the engagement element to be engaged at the time of the fourth-to-third shift, thereby advancing the establishment of the engagement stand-by state at the time of the fourth-to-third shift. Accordingly, the reduction in the servo pressure of the engagement element to be released at the time of the fourth-to-third shift can be advanced, thereby reducing the time for the sixth-to-third shift.

  • Publication number: 20030087717
Abstract: A lock-up control apparatus for an automatic transmission in which operations of four engagement elements are required when shifting is performed from a first shift speed to a second shift speed, the first shift speed being achieved by engagement of a first engagement element and a second engagement element, the second shift speed being achieved by engagement of a third engagement element and a fourth engagement element. The lock-up control apparatus includes a lock-up control unit that performs a control for bringing a lock-up clutch into one of a disengagement state and a slip state at a start of shifting, and that prevents reengagement of the lock-up clutch at a completion of engagement of the third engagement element when shifting is performed from the first shift speed to the second shift speed during lock up.

  • Publication number: 20020151409
Abstract: The invention has been made to eliminate a feeling of two-phase speed-change operations by causing a speed-change operation to proceed continuously when the speed-change operation is performed through two-phase control of engagement and release of four engagement elements. To accomplish this purpose, the invention provides a control apparatus for an automatic transmission wherein a predetermined speed-change operation is achieved through a pre-phase speed-change operation in which a first engagement element and a third engagement element are released and engaged respectively and through a post-phase speed-change operation in which a second engagement element and a fourth engagement element are released and engaged respectively. The control apparatus sets a target rotational acceleration of an input shaft of the transmission, and controls release of the second engagement element for a transition to the post-phase speed-change operation in accordance with the target rotational acceleration.

  • Publication number: 20020086761
Abstract: At the time of the 6→3 speed shift, an automatic transmission achieves a 6→4→3 speed shift by controlling the servo pressures of the fourth engageable elements. A control apparatus controls the servo pressure of one engageable element in accordance with the servo pressures of other engageable elements. The engagement and release timings are adjusted by determining and controlling the oil pressures of the hydraulic servos, taking into consideration the 6→4 shift state (torque sharing) during a shift transitional period. Therefore, engine blow and prolongation are prevented during the 6→3 shift control.

  • Patent number: 6270444
Abstract: Quick shifting is achieved while preventing a shift shock when shifting is caused by grip change of four engagement elements. The automatic transmission requires activation of the four engagement elements when shifting from a first shifting position (sixth speed) to a second shifting position (third speed) is performed. This shifting control apparatus includes shift control means for starting disengagement of a second engagement element after starting disengagement of a first engagement element; completing engagement of a fourth engagement element after completing engagement of a third engagement element; and starting disengagement of the second engagement element before completing engagement of the third engagement element.

  • Patent number: 5822987
Abstract: In a torque converter, in order to reduce the cost, simplify the manufacturing process and ensure the centering precision of of the stator relative to the outer race of a one-way clutch, the stator and the outer race of the one-way clutch have first engaging surface portions preventing relative rotation therebetween and second engaging surface portions providing concentricity therebetween. The first and second surface portions are axially offset from each other.

  • Patent number: 5762172
Abstract: A hydraulic power transmission unit includes a casing connected to an engine, a pump member fixed to the interior of the casing and a turbine mounted within the casing and connected to an output shaft, whereby the output torque of the engine is transmitted to the output shaft through fluid in the casing. A damper mechanism includes damper springs mounted directly on the inner face of the casing at its outer circumference. A damper disc serves to transmit the power of the engine to the output shaft through the damper springs. A lock-up clutch mechanism is also housed within the casing and includes a frictional engagement element arranged between the damper disc and the output shaft. The lock-up clutch mechanism is operated, i.e. frictional engagement element selectively applied and released, by a clutch piston slidably mounted within a cylinder defined by the damper disc.

  • Patent number: 5735376
Abstract: A vehicular automatic transmission, for establishing a plurality of forward gear stages, includes: a transmission case; an input shaft; a transmission mechanism connected to the input shaft and including a plurality of transmission elements; an output shaft connected to the transmission mechanism; a clutch drivably connecting any one of the input shaft and the transmission elements individually; and a hydraulic servo for applying the clutch responsive to an oil pressure. The transmission case encloses the transmission mechanism, the clutch and the hydraulic servo, and includes axial end walls, on one of which is formed a stationary cylinder for the hydraulic servo. A piston is slidably mounted in the cylinder and together with the cylinder, defines an oil chamber for receipt of the actuating oil pressure. A bearing is arranged between the piston and the clutch for transmitting the thrust force from the piston to the clutch, while allowing relative rotation between the piston and the clutch.

  • Patent number: 5559576
Abstract: The replenishing device for use in a light-sensitive material processing apparatus provided with a processing tank for storing a processing solution therein by which a light-sensitive material is processed, includes a first detector to detect an amount of light-sensitive material processed in the processing tank, and to output a detection signal when the amount has reached a predetermined value; a replenisher to replenish the processing agent from a solid agent storing member to the processing tank. The replenisher incudes a processing agent receiving section which receives the processing agent through an opening of a housing member provided inside of the replenisher in the process of movement from an initial position to a replenishing position, and replenishes it to the processing tank at the replenishing position. The device further includes a sliding member linked with the receiving section which slides on the inside of the housing member, to close the opening at the initial position.

  • Patent number: 4884095
Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus for optically writing a data onto a non-exposed film being coated with photosensive material while moving the film to a predetermined direction. The data represents a film frame No., photosensitive emulsion lot No. and so on. The apparatus has two groups of LEDs being arranged with a pitch in parallel two lines being crossing at right angles to a film proceeding direction. The disposing position of LEDs on the one line differs by half of the pitch from that on another line. Therefore, the center of light spot on the one of spotted parallel line irradiated on the film does not face with that on another spotted line along the film proceeding direction. Further, the emission timings of the two groups of light emission sources are respectively controlled to have some time lag therebetween, thereby superposing partially the parallel two spotted lines.
