Abstract: A fully computerized musical performance teaching system comprises a computer apparatus having a keyboard and a display and is connectable to an electronic musical instrument. An application program provides the computer with various functions such as of judging student's skills, selecting music pieces for practice, training the student in performance and evaluating the student's progress through the teaching course. The judging function is to judge the student's performance skill from the student's responses to the subjects which the computer presents. The selecting function is to select a piece of music for practice according to the judgment results and the student's wishes and also to select a tutoring manner from among several prepared manners. The training function is to plan a practice schedule to meet the student's performance skill and wishes and to let the student practice with proper music pieces.

Abstract: A performance data analyzer wherein a plurality of pitch name lines each comprised of essential pitch names characterizing each of plural tonalities are memorized and wherein one of the memorized pitch name lines at least a portion of which is included in an input performance data is extracted and a harmonic tone is extracted from the input performance data so that a tonality of the input performance data is detected on a basis of the extracted pitch name line and the extracted harmonic tone.

Abstract: An electronic musical apparatus having a performance information analyzer for automatically analyzing a performance information of a musical tune into a plurality of performance parts, wherein the analyzer is designed to be applied with a performance information including a plurality of tone pitch informations for detecting a performance style of the performance information and for analyzing the performance information into a plurality of performance parts in accordance with the detected performance style.

Abstract: A pattern memory stores plural accompaniment patterns for each of plural accompaniment components, and each of the accompaniment components is composed of one or more musical instrument parts. An operator is provided for selecting a desired accompaniment pattern for each of the components, and the accompaniment patterns correspond, in accordance with a predetermined rule, to different possible manners in which the operator is actuated, so that a specific accompaniment pattern corresponding to a manner in which the operator is actually actuated. A new accompaniment pattern is registered into the pattern memory in accordance with the predetermined rule. Information indicative of the predetermined rule may be shown on a display. The pattern memory may store accompaniment patterns for each of plural different accompaniment styles, and specific accompaniment patterns may by shared between the accompaniment styles.

Abstract: A normal automatic accompaniment performance is executed in accordance with an accompaniment pattern read out from a pattern memory. When a special performance is designated such as an intro, fill-in or ending performance, a modification suitable for the special performance is applied to a accompaniment pattern read out from the memory, so that the special performance is inserted in accordance with the thus-modified accompaniment pattern. At that time, the pattern may be modified by desired modifier data describing a manner of modifying the pattern. The pattern modification can be diversified by setting an individual modification condition to each musical instrument part of the accompaniment pattern in correspondence to the designated modifier. A memory is provided for storing a number of modifier data, and a further arrangement is provided for freely editing the modifier data stored in the memory.

Abstract: In accordance with one chord detecting approach, a peak value of the number of notes composing performance data is periodically detected for each predetermined time period and a combination of notes corresponding to the detected peak value is extracted as a representative note combination for the period, so that a chord is detected, for each of the predetermined time periods, on the basis of the extracted combination of notes. In accordance with another chord detecting approach, detection is made of a state of notes composing the performance data at each of three specific timings, i.e., predetermined beat timing, preceding timing slightly before the beat timing and succeeding timing slightly after the beat timing in an automatic accompaniment. A chord is detected on the basis of the thus-detected state of notes.

Abstract: A performance information analyzer wherein one of tone pitch information data applied thereto in response to progress of performance of a musical tune is analyzed into one of plural performance parts on a basis of a difference in tone pitch between the one of the tone pitch information data and a reference tone pitch information data previously assigned to a predetermined part of the plural performance parts during prior analysis of the tone pitch information and the other tone pitch information data are analyzed into the other performance parts on a basis of a difference in tone pitch between the analyzed tone pitch information data and each of the other tone pitch information data.
