  • Patent number: 4816815
Abstract: A display memory control system is disclosed which is associated with a display system for displaying and outputting character data, graphic data and the like. In the event of displaying images on a display, a system (host computer) writes one screen of display data in one of two VRAMs. The display data are transferred to the display and to the other VRAM to be stored therein. Upon completion of the storage in the other VRAM, the display data stored therein are read out to appear on the display. To update the display data, the system makes a write access to the one VRAM within a period of time other than one for which the transfer of video data is effected from the one VRAM to the other VRAM. This increases the period of time within which the one VRAM is accessible by the system and, thereby, enhances high speed data processing and display of high resolution images on the display with a desirable quality.

  • Patent number: 4370664
Abstract: An ink jet printing apparatus causes deflected droplets of ink to move accurately to a predetermined position by detecting the deflection position of the ink droplets a multiplicity of times and varying the amount of deflection on the basis of the detected deflection position. The charging voltage level or the deflecting voltage level which is varied at each adjustment of the deflection amount has a variable amount of variation. As the adjustment of the deflection is repeated many times, the amount of variation of the charge voltage level or that of the deflection voltage level is decreased progressively at a predetermined rate. Ink droplets are charged from the first step over to the last not in a continuous manner according to the order of the steps but by each predetermined group of steps which skip the others.

  • Patent number: 4321599
Abstract: A character generator (14) applies character columns in a standard 5.times.7 or similar matrix form to a multi-digit dot matrix display (12). Inhibition circuitry (33), (23) eliminates all character columns containing no character dots. Additional circuitry (19), (33) ensures that there will be one blank column between adjacent characters. This arrangement increases the legibility of the display and enables more characters to be displayed in the same space.
