  • Publication number: 20220194138
Abstract: A tire has a tread portion provided with grooves. The ground contact area of the tread portion has ground contact lengths in the tire circumferential direction which include a crown ground contact length LC at the tire equator and a shoulder ground contact length LS at a position spaced apart from the tire equator by 80% of a half tread width Tw. The crown ground contact length LC is 0.95 to 1.05 times the shoulder ground contact length LS. Groove depths of the respective grooves are determined so as to satisfy specific mathematical equations based on a reference virtual groove G0 having a predetermined groove depth d0 and defined at the tire equator.

  • Publication number: 20220072913
Abstract: A tire comprises a tread portion provided with grooves. When the tire mounted on a standard wheel rim and inflated to a standard tire pressure is placed on a flat surface at a camber angle of zero and loaded with a standard tire load, the tire has a ground contacting patch. The depths of the respective grooves, and ground contact lengths of the ground contacting patch measured at axial positions of the respective grooves, are in a relationship in which the groove depth increases or decreases as the ground contact length increases or decreases.

  • Patent number: 11077716
Abstract: A tire includes a tread portion including a main groove, a first block and a second block which are adjacent to one another in a tire axial direction through the main groove. The main groove includes first groove elements and second groove elements having groove widths smaller than that of the first groove elements. The first block includes a first ground contact surface, a first sidewall facing one of the second groove elements, a first corner portion between the first ground contact surface and the first sidewall, and a first recess being cut out the first corner portion locally. The second block includes a second ground contact surface, a second sidewall facing said one of the second groove elements, a second corner portion between the second ground contact surface and the second sidewall, and a second recess being cut out the second corner portion locally.

  • Publication number: 20210197624
Abstract: A tire includes a tread portion bound with an intended tire rotational direction. The tread portion is provided a plurality of blocks. Each of the blocks includes a first ground contact edge, which is a ground contact edge on a heel side in the tire rotational direction, and a second ground contact edge, which is the ground contact edge on a toe side in the tire rotational direction. A second tire radius which is a tire radius at the second ground contact edge is larger than a first tire radius which is the tire radius at the first ground contact edge.
