  • Publication number: 20190045086
Abstract: An image processing apparatus sets a threshold value matrix for each of multiple color materials, and uses the set threshold value matrix to acquire a first threshold value. On the other hand, the image processing apparatus sets reference data on the basis of multivalued data of that color material. Then, the image processing apparatus calculates a second threshold value matrix by performing a predetermined process on the first threshold value on the basis of the reference data for that color material. Further, by comparing the second threshold value with the multivalued data, quantization data for printing a dot is generated. When doing this, the threshold value matrix and the reference data for that color material are set so as to make the graininess of a dot pattern of that color material lower than the graininess of a mixed color dot pattern obtained by mixing dot patterns of the respective multiple color materials.

  • Publication number: 20190016123
Abstract: In a print head, a plurality of ejection ports for ejecting metallic ink, including a solvent and particles for imparting a metallic gloss, are arranged in a predetermined direction. A plurality of printing scans are performed to the same area of the print medium to print an image on the print medium. In the printing scan, the metallic ink being ejected from the print head to a print medium while moving the print head in a scanning direction intersecting the predetermined direction. At least one of the plurality of printing scans is set as a first scan having a higher print ratio than the other printing scans.

  • Patent number: 10022982
Abstract: A recording device includes a recording unit, a scanning unit, and a recording control unit. The recording unit includes first and second recording parts each having multiple discharge orifice rows that each have multiple discharge orifices arrayed in a predetermined direction. The first recording part and the second recording part are separated from each other in an intersecting direction that intersects the predetermined direction. The scanning unit performs recording scanning by moving the recording unit. The recording control unit performs recording of a region on the recording medium including one edge of the recording medium by the first recording part alone, recording of another region including the other edge of the recording medium by the second recording part alone, and recording of a region in between the two regions using both recording parts.

  • Patent number: 10013395
Abstract: An apparatus includes a memory to store a program and a processor to execute the program stored in the memory. The processor selects randomly output target images from output target candidate images and generates a plurality of layout images, each of which is generated by laying out the selected output target image. A template includes at least one image layout area. The processor determines a layout image from the generated plurality of layout images, by evaluating the selected target images included in each of the generated plurality of layout images according to both of first information corresponding to a user's evaluations for each of the selected output target images and second information based on an output history of each of the selected output target images in accordance with user designations. The processor outputs the determined layout image.

  • Publication number: 20140013213
Abstract: This invention provides a technique for generating a layout which matches preferences of a larger number of persons by selecting images with higher preference evaluations based on not only preference degrees which are explicitly set by the user, and access counts in accordance with browse designations. To this end, an importance degree (preference evaluation value) for a given image is obtained using both a value indicating a preference degree which is explicitly set by the user for that image and an interest degree (automatic preference degree) determined by a browse count. In this case, the preference degree explicitly set by the user is multiplied by a larger weight than the interest degree. Then, images to be laid out on a template are determined according to the importance degrees.
