Abstract: A planar light-emitting device includes a light source element and a light guide plate. The light source element is configured to emit light. The light guide plate has a housing hole, a light-emitting face and a light reflecting face. The housing hole houses the light source element. The light reflecting face is formed along a side end portion of the light guide plate. The light reflecting face has an inclined portion that is located next to the housing hole in a first direction of the light guide plate and a flat portion that is located next to the inclined portion in a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction. The inclined portion has an inclination angle with respect to the flat portion such that the light reflected on the inclined portion is prevented from returning the housing hole.

Abstract: A liquid crystal module includes a frame, a light reflecting sheet, a cold cathode tube, an optical sheet, a liquid crystal panel, a bezel, a pair of lamp frames and a restriction component. The frame includes top, bottom, left and right side plates, and a base plate disposed on a lower side of the top, bottom, left and right side plates. The pair of lamp frames is fixedly attached along the left and right side plates of the frame in an interior of the frame. The restriction component is provided between each of the lamp frames and each of the top and bottom side plates to prevent the lamp frames from rotating around a longitudinal axis of the lamp frames with respect to the frame.

Abstract: A lamp unit for a liquid crystal display device includes a cold cathode lamp, a lamp cable, a lamp socket and a lamp reflector. The lamp cable is electrically connected to the cold cathode lamp to supply electric power to the cold cathode lamp. The lamp socket supports the cold cathode lamp and has a holder portion holding the lamp cable. The lamp reflector houses the cold cathode lamp and the lamp socket and has a bottom plate, front and rear plates that extend from the bottom plate and a pair of support tabs that extends from lateral end portions of the front and rear plates to sandwich the holder portion of the lamp socket therebetween.

A liquid crystal panel is mounted on the cell guide. A relay substrate is attached to the cell guide such that the relay substrate is provided along the vertical plate portion of the cell guide. A chip on film electrically connects the liquid crystal panel and the relay substrate. A lower end portion of the relay substrate is interposed between the vertical plate portion and the convex portion of the cell guide.
