  • Patent number: 11923756
Abstract: A control apparatus for a power conversion apparatus acquires a detected voltage of an alternating-current power supply. The control apparatus determines a period from when the detected voltage exceeds a first determination value for determining a zero-up-crossing timing of an actual voltage of the alternating-current power supply until the detected voltage falls below a second determination value for determining a zero-down-crossing timing of the actual voltage to be a period during which the actual voltage has a positive polarity, and determines a period from when the detected voltage falls below the second determination value until the detected voltage exceeds the first determination value to be a period during which the actual voltage has a negative polarity. The first determination value is less than the detected voltage when the actual voltage is zero, and the second determination value is greater than the detected voltage when the actual voltage is zero.

Abstract: A power converter includes a full-bridge circuit, power converting circuit, transformer, and controller. The full-bridge circuit includes a series-connected unit made of first and second switches and a series-connected unit made of third and fourth switches and is connected to power transmitting terminals. The power converting circuit is connected to power receiving terminals. The transformer includes power transmitting coil and power receiving coil. The power transmitting coil is connected to full-bridge circuit. The power receiving coil is connected to power converting circuit. The controller turns on the first and second switches alternately and also the third and fourth switches alternately. A resistive load is connected to the power receiving terminals. The controller serves to determine a phase difference between the time when first switch is turned on and the time when third switch is turned on to decrease with a decrease in measured voltage developed at the power receiving terminals.

  • Publication number: 20220263411
Abstract: An electric power conversion apparatus has an input and output terminal, and a switch unit, and turns on and off the switch unit to transfer electric power from an electric storage unit connected to the input terminal to a power supply target connected to the output terminal. When reverse conduction current flows in the switch unit, it causes a larger conduction loss in an off state than an on state. The apparatus includes: a control unit that determines whether there is a request for increasing an amount of heat generation due to the electric power transfer, and when it is determined that there is the request, turns off the switch unit in which the reverse conduction current flows during the electric power transfer and, when it is determined that there is no request, turns on the switch unit in which the reverse conduction current flows during the electric power transfer.

  • Publication number: 20220255445
Abstract: A power conversion apparatus includes an input side terminal, an output side terminal and a switch unit, switching the switch unit between ON and OFF during a power transmission. The switch unit has characteristics that, in the case where a reverse current flows through the switch unit, the larger a gate voltage thereof in a negative side, the larger a conduction loss occurring when the reverse current flows. The power conversion apparatus is provided with a control unit that increases, when determined that the increase request for increasing the heating value is present, the gate voltage of the switch unit to the negative side when turned OFF compared to a case where no increase request for increasing the heating value is present, the reverse current flowing through the switch unit during the power transmission.

  • Publication number: 20220131401
Abstract: A power supply system includes a power conversion circuit that is connectable to a power storage unit. The power supply system includes a control unit and a heat transferring unit. The control unit supplies a current between the power storage unit and the power conversion circuit by performing on-off control of a switch that configures the power conversion circuit. The heat transferring unit absorbs heat that is generated in the power conversion circuit in accompaniment with the on-off control of the switch and transfers the heat to a temperature-increase target element. The control unit performs temperature-increase mode control in which the switch is on-off controlled such that an amount of heat that is generated in the power conversion circuit is increased when a temperature-increase request for the temperature-increase target element is present, compared to when the temperature-increase request is not present.

  • Publication number: 20170085181
Abstract: A power conversion apparatus supplies power from a DC power supply to a capacitive load by a current input push-pull DCDC converter provided with switching elements Q1 and Q2. When a capacitive load voltage is not larger than a second predetermined value, a first mode is used which turns ON one of the switching elements Q1 and Q2 alternated with turning OFF both. When the capacitive load voltage is larger than the second predetermined value but not larger than a first predetermined value, a second mode is used which turns ON both of the switching elements Q1 and Q2, then turns ON one of them, then turns OFF both, sequentially. When the capacitive load voltage is larger than the first predetermined value, a third mode is used, turning ON both of the switching elements Q1 and Q2 alternated with turning ON one of them.
