  • Publication number: 20130047773
Abstract: A steering device is provided that includes an aluminum-alloy column bolted with a steering lock apparatus, that prevents destruction of a flange to be bolted, and that prevents the bolt from being loosened by applying shock to a bolt head section through the use of a special tool. A counterbore is formed so deep that a slant plane is higher than a top end of a disk-shaped member of a bolt. A thief can hardly apply shock to the disk-shaped member of the bolt using a special tool. It is difficult to rotate and loosen the bolt. A vehicle can be prevented from being stolen by removing a steering lock apparatus from an outer column.

  • Publication number: 20120266715
Abstract: A steering device facilitates the assembling of a tilt lock mechanism that elastically supports movement of a movable tilt lock gear to a stationary cam in a tilt direction by a spring. The stationary cam has both characteristics of durability and an impact reduction capability. When a cylindrical part of a tilt stopper has been inserted into a through hole, the cylindrical part is enlarged in diameter, and engagement surfaces of engagement projections are engaged with an end surface of an inclined cam surface side of a stationary cam. A right end surface of a flange part of the tilt stopper is abutted against an end surface of a movable tilt lock gear. The movable tilt lock gear, a wire spring, and the stationary cam are integrated by the tilt stopper, and those four parts can be prevented from being dispersed during transportation. As a result, the assembling time can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 7886630
Abstract: When a column 4 reaches a tilting ascent end, the lower end 732 of a nut 73 abuts on the buffering segment 83 of a buffer 82. Thus, while the buffering segment 83 of the buffer 82 is elastically deformed, the nut 73 stops with no impact. Accordingly, the inertia when the nut 73 stops is restrained and the tightening torque of the nut 73 when the nut 73 stops is also restrained. For this reason, when an electric motor 61 is rotationally driven in a reverse direction, a feeding screw shaft 71 rotates in the reverse direction with the normal rotation torque of the electric motor 61. Thus, the nut 73 is caused to ascend in the axial direction along the screw segment of the feeding screw shaft 71 so that the column 4 can be tiltingly moved downward.
