    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a sheet processing apparatus includes a roller unit having a reinforce roller which moves along a fold of a sheet perpendicular to the sheet conveying direction and thereby further reinforces the fold by the reinforce roller, and a control unit which counts the number of halts of the roller unit generated during the reinforcing operation of the sheet, and in case that the counted number of the halts of the roller unit is less than a prescribed number of times, makes the roller unit to be moved to a retract position and then makes the roller unit to be driven again to perform the reinforcing operation.
