  • Patent number: 6142461
Abstract: A sheet processing device according to the present invention is formed of an image forming device, an ejecting device and a stacking device; wherein the sheet processing device further includes an auxiliary support device which is disposed at a distal side in a sheet ejecting direction of the support device. The auxiliary support device is rotatably moved between a support position for supporting at least a forward end of the sheet and a retracting position from the support position. Whereby the stacking area of the support device can be varied, and the ejecting of the sheets temporarily stacked on the stacking device can be easily accomplished.

  • Patent number: 6120020
Abstract: A sheet post-processing device includes a storing tray for storing a sheet, and a process tray for post-processing the sheet. The sheet post-processing device has a first mode for guiding the sheet from an image forming device to the storing tray, and a second mode for guiding the sheet from the image forming device to the process tray and guiding the sheet to the storing tray after predetermined post-processing is operated. A guide device is formed in the sheet post-processing device for guiding the sheet from the image forming device to allow the sheet to pass at a portion spaced from the sheet placing surface of the process tray and to reach the storing tray. The guide means is transferred to a position for guiding the sheet to the storing tray in case of the first mode, and is transferred to a position to allow the sheet to be placed on the sheet placing surface of the process tray in case of the second mode.

  • Patent number: 5971384
Abstract: A finishing device of the present invention is formed of a piling tray disposed above a main image forming device to hold a sheet therefrom, a stapling tray for temporally piling the sheet transferred from the main image forming device to the piling tray and a stapling device for binding a stack of sheets on the stapling tray. The finishing device further includes a first sheet transferring path for guiding the sheet from the main image forming device in a substantially vertical direction; a second sheet transferring path having a deflecting portion connected to the first sheet transferring path to guide the sheet in a substantially horizontal direction. The stapling tray extends from an exit terminal of the second sheet transferring path; the piling tray holds the sheet from the stapling tray; and the stapling device is disposed between the deflecting portion of the second sheet transferring path and the stapling tray to bind the rear ends of the sheets on the stapling tray in an ejecting direction.

  • Patent number: 5895036
Abstract: A finishing device of the present invention includes a sheet transferring path for guiding a sheet from an image forming device to a piling tray by substantially vertically deflecting the sheet in either upper or lower direction with respect to the device; a tray for temporarily holding and piling sheets, as a stack, from the sheet transferring path; and a stapling unit disposed between the tray and the sheet transferring path so that an edge on an upstream side of sheets on the tray is bound. The stapling unit is structured such that a cartridge loaded with stapling needles can be attached or detached from a back surface side facing the sheet transferring path side, and at least a part of sheet guides for constituting the sheet transferring path can be opened and closed so that the back surface side of the stapling unit can be exposed outside the device. Thus, the stapling unit need not be moved outside the device for exchanging the needles.
