  • Patent number: 10707474
Abstract: Provided is a secondary battery including a pressure type current interrupt device with reduced welding failures and high productivity as a result. A secondary battery disclosed herein includes an electrode body, a battery case for housing the electrode body, an electrode terminal electrically connected to the electrode body, and a current interrupt device provided in a conduction path between the electrode body and the electrode terminal to interrupt the conduction path in response to increase in pressure in the battery case. The current interrupt device includes a rivet and a reverse plate welded to the rivet. The current interrupt device has one continuous welding mark. The one continuous welding mark has a circumferential part that is continuous circumferentially along an outer edge part of the reverse plate. The start and end points of the one continuous welding mark are positioned offset from the circumferential part.
