  • Patent number: 10135518
Abstract: A method includes, in a transceiver (28, 160), receiving from a repeater (32, 168) a received signal that includes a desired signal for reception and an undesired replica of a transmitted signal that was transmitted from the transceiver and retransmitted by the repeater. A local copy of the transmitted signal is generated in the transceiver. The local copy is matched with the undesired replica of the transmitted signal in the received signal, by adapting the received signal while retaining the local copy non-adaptive. An interference caused by the undesired replica to the desired signal is canceled, by subtracting the local copy from the adapted received signal.

  • Publication number: 20040076247
Abstract: A method for processing an input signal having an input peak-to-average (PAR) so as to generate an output signal having an output PAR and a permitted spectral mask. The method includes generating a difference signal proportional to an amount by which the input signal exceeds a predetermined threshold, and filtering the difference signal with a filter having a spectral response that is determined responsively to the permitted spectral mask. The filtered difference signal is subtracted from the input signal to generate the output signal so that the output PAR is adjusted relative to the input PAR. Typically, the output PAR is reduced relative to the input PAR.

  • Patent number: 6298097
Abstract: Linearization circuitry for predistortion of an input signal to an amplifier having a given distortion characteristic, including a correction circuit, which receives a stream of samples of the input signal at a high sample rate and which applies a correction to the samples responsive to the given distortion characteristic. The corrected samples are preferably low-pass filtered. A decimation circuit receives the corrected samples from the correction circuit and reduces the sample rate of the stream for output to the amplifier, to a reduced rate substantially less than the high sample rate. The present invention enables significant parts of the circuitry to operate at much lower sample rates that previously achievable and lends itself naturally to parallel implementations.

  • Patent number: 6166601
Abstract: A super-linear feedforward amplifier, for amplifying radio-frequency input signals produced in one or more frequency channels over an input band, includes a radio-frequency power amplifier, which amplifies the signals. A signal cancellation circuit loop generates an error signal responsive to distortion products in the amplified signals. A digital correction block digitally equalizes the input signals responsive to a transfer function of the amplifier, whereby the input signals are substantially canceled out of the error signal over the entire input band. An error cancellation circuit loop subtracts the error signal from the amplified signals to generate a linearized output signal.
