Abstract: A fiber optic sensing device includes an optical fiber having a polished end defining a flat sensory portion coated with a lossy-mode-resonance (LMR) coating. A reflective coating on an end face of the optical fiber facilitates propagation of a return signal. An optic circuit for identifies a wavelength attenuated by the LMR coating from the return signal reflected by the reflective coating based on a moisture presence at the sensory portion. Various gaseous parameters may be detected based on the coating on the sensory portion. An LMR coating of tin oxide (SnO2) is employed for moisture sensing.

The present invention may correctly identify whether a telephone call is a number-falsified telephone call.

Abstract: A multifunctional all-terrain walking-type hydraulic excavator includes a multifunctional working apparatus (2), a cab (3), a slew assembly (4), a slewing bearing (6), and a walking-type chassis (5). By means of a hydraulic capstan (5.9) arranged at the forward end of the chassis (5), the excavator is able to perform self-rescue and towing assistance. The walking-type chassis (5) adapts to terrain through adjustments of the swing angles of the forward and rear legs (5.2, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6) and thus is able to walk and operate in difficult terrain.

Abstract: An improved seismic alarm system designed to alarm users of an upcoming seismic event and other natural disasters, and aid victims' survival after an earthquake. The seismic alarm system includes an accelerometer, a controller, an acoustic-to-electric transducer for acoustic pattern detection, and RF module to receive emergency radio signals. The alarm system has central controlling unit that sets off an alarm after processing signals from several module and components: accelerometer detects seismic P wave acceleration changes for early earthquake detection; acoustic-to-electric transducer detects human acoustics or predetermined acoustic patterns, then initiates an alarm that brings rescue attention to survivors; RF module is tuned to receive emergency radio signals.
