  • Patent number: 7151206
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a novel auxin-inducible gene, ARGOS, that is involved in organ development, including size control, in plants. Methods of influencing this development are also described, as are transformed cells and transgenic plants comprising the described sequences.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 18, 2003
Date of Patent: December 19, 2006
    Assignee: Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory

  • Patent number: 7083896
Abstract: An improved digitally imageable relief printing element having an increased direct-cure imaging speed upon exposure to lasers and other digital sources of actinic radiation. The printing elements of the invention comprise a reflective layer beneath a photosensitive resin layer so that instead of being absorbed by the reflective layer, photons of actinic radiation are reflected back up into the photosensitive layer, thereby speeding up the curing rate of the printing element.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 4, 2005
Date of Patent: August 1, 2006
    Assignee: Napp Systems, Inc.
Inventors: David Roberts, Geoffrey Yuxin Hu

  • Patent number: 6780566
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there are provided high performance, photoimageable resin compositions for flexographic printing, having excellent physical properties, e.g., resilience, hardness, toughness, and the like, as well as increased rates of cure upon exposure to radiation. In a further aspect of the invention, there are provided printing plates prepared employing invention compositions, wherein said printing plates are characterized as having excellent exposure sensitivity, the capability of rapidly curing upon exposure, excellent retention of fine details, and excellent colorless performance. Moreover, printing plates prepared employing invention compositions have good flexibility, excellent washout properties, and retain such properties over extended periods of storage. In another aspect of the invention, there are provided methods for the preparation of formulations comprising said compositions and methods for use thereof.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 11, 2003
Date of Patent: August 24, 2004
    Assignee: Napp Systems, Inc.
Inventors: Yuxin Hu, David H. Roberts, Reny R. Paguio, Maria Teresa A. Castillo
  • Publication number: 20040146806
Abstract: An improved photopolymerizable resin composition for use in making flexographic printing plates, wherein the resin composition comprises a base polymer, a reactive crosslinking agent, a photoinitiator, and a nanoparticle-sized filler. Printing plates produced using the improved compositions of the invention have increased toughness, less tack, reduced cold flow, and higher hardness as compared to prior art compositions that do not contain nanoparticle fillers.
