  • Patent number: 6061898
Abstract: An apparatus for assembling a photo film unit has a dark box, which has supply openings into which parts are supplied, and an exit opening from which the body loaded with the photo film is exited. Intermediate cells of the dark box shield ambient light and include interlocked outer shutter plates and inner shutter plates which are disposed in the supply openings and the exit opening. A cassette supplying loader and a robot hand transfer the cassette into the dark box, while a leading tongue of the photo film is protruded from the cassette shell, with a remaining portion of the photo film contained as a roll. A roll forming fork device winds the photo film to a predetermined length from the cassette and forms the photo film into the roll. A photo film mounting mechanism swings the roll and the cassette shell together to change orientation thereof, and loads the roll and the cassette shell into the body.

  • Patent number: 5606411
Abstract: A photo film cassette has a spool core (13) about which the photo film is wound in a roll form. A flexible disk (16, 17) is secured to each of two ends of the spool core, for regulating each of edges of the photo film. Material of the disk being thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet (27). The sheet is subjected to vacuum/air-pressure forming to form a disk-like portion (50). The disk is cut out of the disk-like portion by a punch/die set (31) before conveyance to a spool core mounting station. To inspect the disk, a photoelectric switch (54) includes a projector (54a) for applying a beam to a die of the punch/die set after cutting out the disk. A receiver (54b) measures the beam reflected by the die. A controller (55) evaluates the measured beam, to inspect occurrence of deposition of the disk on the punch/die set. If the deposition occurs, the controller considers the disk likely to overlie on one subsequent disk.

  • Patent number: 4915368
Abstract: When arranging a plurality of sheets side by side in predetermined pattern on a sheet receiving member, the sheets are fed to a receiving position one by one, and are picked up one by one by a suction cup on a rotatable arm member. The rotatable arm member is rotated to bring each sheet picked up by the suction cup to a delivery position, and the sheet is placed on the part of the sheet receiving member positioned in the delivery position while the sheet receiving member is moved, in synchronization with rotation of the rotatable arm member, along a predetermined path corresponding to said predetermined pattern so that a new part of the sheet receiving member is brought to the delivery position each time the sheet receiving member is moved. This method is applicable to a process for making chemical analysis slides.

  • Patent number: 4878971
Abstract: A chemical analysis slide includes at least two plastic sheets superposed one on another and bonded together, and a chemical analysis film sandwiched therebetween. In a method of continuously assembling such chemical analysis slides, while at least two plastic sheets in continous lengths are conveyed in the longitudinal direction thereof, a plurality of chemical anaylsis films are sandwiched between the plastic sheets at predetermined intervals, the plastic sheets are bonded together at a portion circumscribing each of the chemical analysis films sandwiched therebetween to form a sheet assembly and individual chemical analysis slides are cut out from the sheet assembly. At least one of the sheets in continuous lengths is provided with a plurality of slits extending in the transverse direction of the sheet at regular intervals at the remaining portions of the sheet which do not form a part of the chemical analysis slide.

  • Patent number: 4330925
Abstract: A method and apparatus for loading a recording medium such as a video magnetic tape into a magazine or cartridge employing an S-shaped running path. Both surfaces of the recording medium are placed over winding cores and held in the S-shape by stationary and movable forming pins. The reels of the winding cores are held so as to shift the assembly to a position above a body part of the magazine on a pallet transported by a conveyor belt. The assembly is then lowered so that the guide members forming the S-shaped running path are inserted into hollow lower end portions of the forming pins. The forming pins are then lifted from the guide members as the reels are released.
