Patent number: 10371026Abstract: An improved blow-by gas return structure minimizes the occurrence of a drawback caused by freezing at a low temperature by bringing a state where freezing minimally occurs in a blow-bay gas passage such as a pipe disposed outside an engine. The blow-by gas return structure is configured such that a blow-by gas is introduced into an intake manifold through an inner passage formed in a head cover. The blow-by gas return structure includes an outer pipe which connects a blow-by gas outlet of the head cover and a blow-by gas inlet of a main pipe of the intake manifold in a communicable manner, and a temperature elevating mechanism configured to elevate a temperature of the blow-by gas inlet. The temperature elevating mechanism is configured such that a cooling water transfer passage is formed in a portion of the blow-by gas inlet of the main pipe.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 2017Date of Patent: August 6, 2019Assignee: KUBOTA CorporationInventors: Takahiro Tokunaga, Yusuke Tanimoto, Kazuya Hamada, Shinji Kishi, Yuzo Umeda

Patent number: 7047929Abstract: The present invention relates to an engine and a method for producing the engine. The engine is constructed as follows. The engine interlockingly operates a pump (39, 139) for feeding fuel under pressure, by power of a crank shaft (1). A pair of gears (32a) and (32b) are arranged to be attached to a gear attaching shaft (32). The paired gears (32a) and (32b) are attached to the gear attaching shaft (32). At least one gear (32a) of the paired gears (32a) and (32b) constitutes a gear train (14, 114) through which the power of the crank shaft (1) is transmitted to the pump (39, 139). The method for producing the engine is constructed as follows. The method uses a common part for each of the gear trains (14) and (114) so as to produce engines of an injection pump specification and a common rail specification and alternatively manufactures the gear trains (14) and (114) through the common part.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 2003Date of Patent: May 23, 2006Assignee: Kubota CorporationInventors: Masahiro Aketa, Wataru Iwanaga, Yuzo Umeda

Patent number: 6647951Abstract: A direct-injection type diesel engine comprises a cylinder head (1) with a fuel injection nozzle (2) and a glow plug (3) attached thereto. The fuel injection nozzle (2) has a leading end opposed to a cylinder mid portion (4) and the glow plug (3) extends through an intake port wall portion (6) between the fuel injection nozzle (2) and an intake port (5). The glow plug (3) is inclined with respect to the fuel injection nozzle (2) by a predetermined angle (&thgr;1) and has a leading end inserted into the cylinder mid portion (4).Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2002Date of Patent: November 18, 2003Assignee: Kubota CorporationInventors: Yasunori Shiraishi, Masahiro Aketa, Wataru Iwanaga, Yuzo Umeda

Patent number: 6032641Abstract: A fuel injection device for a diesel engine adapted to perform a preliminary injection (1) and a main injection (2) to a combustion chamber (3), wherein the preliminary injection (1) is adjusted to begin within a valve overlap term (40).Within the valve overlap term (40), no intake air is introduced into the combustion chamber (3) or a little if any and the combustion chamber (3) contains a gas of high temperature. If the preliminary injection (1) is conducted into this gas of high temperature within the combustion chamber (3), a preliminary injection fuel vaporizes soon to thereby shorten the ignition lag of a main injection fuel with the result of improving the combustion.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 1998Date of Patent: March 7, 2000Assignee: Kubota CorporationInventors: Masahiro Aketa, Hideya Miyazaki, Yuzo Umeda, Yuji Takemura

Patent number: 5148789Abstract: In a governor device of a diesel engine, a control rack of a fuel injection pump is adapted to be controllably actuated by a balance between a governor spring and an engine revolution speed responsive means. A speed control member is adapted to be manipulated for adjusting a tension force of the governor spring. A fuel limiting actuation member serves to prevent an excessive fuel flow from being injected when the speed control member is manipulated for a quick acceleration. A quick acceleration state detecting means serves to detect a quickly accelerated state of the engine so as to selectively change over the fuel limiting actuation member to a fuel limiting position and to a fuel limitation cancelling position depending on the lapse of time.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 1990Date of Patent: September 22, 1992Assignee: Kubota CorporationInventors: Yasunori Shiraishi, Masahiro Nagahama, Mutsumi Murata, Yuzo Umeda, Setsuo Yamada, Kazuyoshi Morioka
