    Abstract: Unsaturated aliphatic dinitriles such as fumaronitrile and maleonitrile can be produced in high yields by ammoxidation of C.sub.4 straight-chain hydrocarbons in the presence of a catalyst containing as active components:[A] at least one kind of oxides of vanadium and tungsten, and[B](1) at least one kind of oxides of antimony, phosphorus and boron, and/or(2) at least one kind of oxides of chromium, nickel, aluminum and silicon.
