  • Patent number: 7055655
Abstract: A bicycle assembly includes a frame portion, a component and a shim. The frame portion has a component mounting section. The component has a frame mounting section. The frame mounting section is removably coupled to the component mounting section by a fastener. The shim is mounted between the component mounting section and the frame mounting section on the fastener to space the component a predetermined distance from the frame portion. The shim includes a shim portion and a handle portion. The shim portion includes two shim sections connected together. The shim sections have free ends spaced from each other to form an open ended fastener opening with the fastener selectively received therein. The shim portion has a predetermined thickness in an axial direction of the fastener opening to space the component a predetermined distance from the frame section. The handle portion extends outwardly from the shim portion.

  • Patent number: 6685384
Abstract: A cable harness assembly is provided on a bicycle for guiding a disk brake control hose in accompaniment of the cable stoppers brazed on a bicycle frame. The cable harness assembly basically has a hose hanger, a hanger stopper, a stopper bushing and a hanger fixing bolt. The hose hanger includes a body portion of a first outer diameter or width and formed with a first axial bore therethrough, and a cable portion extending from the body portion. The hanger stopper of a second outer diameter or width is smaller than the first outer diameter or width. The hanger stopper is formed with a halting piece extending from the hanger stopper and a second axial bore therethrough. The stopper bushing is sandwiched between the hose hanger and the hanger stopper and formed with a third axial bore therethrough. The stopper bushing is made of a radially expandable material and has a third outer diameter or width being normally approximate to the second outer diameter or width.

  • Patent number: 6527303
Abstract: A hydraulic hose assembly is provided for connecting hydraulic components of a bicycle. The hydraulic hose assembly has a flexible hose, a rigid tubular insert, connecting fastener and a tubular bushing. The compression bushing surrounds the flexible hose in order that the connecting fastener can be tightened to compress the bushing into a watertight seal. The compression bushing has an annular recess that is located between a pair of inclined sections. The annular recess is configured to limit the amount of radial expansion of the outer diameter of the bushing when the hydraulic hose assembly is coupled to the bicycle component.

  • Patent number: 6517031
Abstract: A method of supporting a hose on a cable stopper of a bicycle involves providing a cable harness assembly including a hose hanger and a stopper bushing; inserting the stopper bushing within an inner space of the cable stopper; radially expanding the stopper bushing within the inner space of the cable stopper such that the stopper bushing at least partially contacts an interior wall of the cable stopper to couple the hose hanger to the cable stopper; and supporting the hose on a cable portion of the hose hanger. The hose hanger includes a body portion and the cable portion that is sized and configured to support the hose. The stopper bushing has an unexpanded outer width that is sized and configured to be received within the inner space of the cable stopper.
