  • Patent number: 11708096
Abstract: A side wall for a rail vehicle body includes an outer skin, an insulating layer adjacent an inner face of the outer skin, a structural layer adjacent an inner face of the insulating layer, a finishing layer adjacent an inner face of the structural layer and a window. The insulating layer provides at least one of a thermal and an acoustical insulation. The structural layer has a longitudinally aligned top door frame member, vertical left and right door frame members and a plurality of diagonal structural members oriented at an angle comprised between 1 degree and 89 degrees from the top door frame member. The plurality of diagonal structural members defines a lattice structure having a plurality of openings there in between. The window covers at least a portion of one of the plurality of openings.

  • Patent number: 5523736
Abstract: An automated character-based bowling scoring display system provides voltage level encoding of separate red, green, and blue digital signals into a single analog signal for transmission at a standard transmission frequency or a reduced transmission frequency over a single coaxial cable stretching approximately 200 feet to a remote monitor residing in an overhead console. The system provides monitor display of various sizes and fonts of alphanumeric and graphical characters stored in hardware. The reduced transmission frequency results in a wider character when displayed. The system can store up to four additional pages of character information which can be successively and rapidly displayed on a monitor thereby mimicking the animation capability inherent in a more expensive and sophisticated bit-mapped graphics system.

  • Patent number: 5070794
Abstract: A rail vehicle sectioned door assembly for a door opening having a stairwell. The assembly comprises a sliding door having a door upper section and lower section slidingly interconnected together by a lock assembly. The door lower section is provided with guide rails to position same adjacent the stairwell. A stairwell platform is hingedly connected to one side of an upper horizontal plane of the stairwell. The platform is releasably secured in a retracted position clear of the upper horizontal plane and the stairwell. The platform is displaceable to lie in the horizontal plane, in a position of use, and is supported thereon. The lock is disengaged by the platform when displaced to its position of use to disconnect the door upper section from the door lower section whereby to permit the upper section to slide open while the lower section closes a lower portion of said opening below the platform.
