    Abstract: The syringe (10) for self-injecting an extemporaneous mixture comprises: a body (60) containing at least two substances (36, 38) initially separated by an intermediate piston (32), which body (60) has two relatively movable portions (64, 66) that are movable between an initial position in which the two substances (36, 38) are separate and a final position in which the two substances (36, 38) are mixed together to form an extemporaneous mixture; automatic means (70, 72) for injecting the extemporaneous mixture out from the body (60) in order to proceed with injection; and latch means (73) for preventing triggering of the automatic injection means (70, 72). The syringe includes locking means (154, 109) for locking the latch means (73) so as to prevent the automatic injection means (70, 72) being triggered until the two substances have finished being mixed together.
