  • Publication number: 20220322624
Abstract: There is a module for vertical farming. Vertical posts form a grid having rows in both the longitudinal direction and transverse direction. Diagonal support members are installed between posts in a longitudinal direction, along two opposed inner sides of the module, one being along a corridor for passage. In the transverse direction, other diagonal support members are installed without blocking the corridor, and racks are formed in said direction comprising the other diagonal support members, the racks extending vertically for growing plants therein along a height thereof. Floor anchors and corresponding ceiling anchors, located respectively at the bottom and at the top of each one of the posts, are provided to fasten modules on top of each other such that the structure formed by the posts is the load-bearing structure. Catwalks are installed for human passage in the corridor and between adjacent racks.

  • Publication number: 20220253756
Abstract: There is described a method and distributed network for managing a supply chain. At least one local production system is fed with an algorithm for producing a good or service (such as agricultural produce) over a production duration. An edge computing device, receives and treats data originating from the at least one local production system. A server periodically receives, from remote data sources, data relative to a market for the good or service, after a time period which is less than the production duration, and receives data treated by the edge computing device to perform comparisons with the data relative to the market to make a diagnostic. The diagnostic is transmitted to a machine learning module for updating the algorithm for production after the time period which is less than the production duration and feeding the algorithm as updated to the at least one local production system.

  • Publication number: 20180278989
Abstract: The present document describes an apparatus and method for monitoring and interacting with listeners of audio-video content. There are provided audio signals from which audio-video content can be identified by a monitoring peripheral paired with a user's electronic device. The monitoring peripheral monitors audio signals from its surroundings and communicates to the paired user's electronic device, decoded and/or generated digital IDs from these audio signals. A master service application or registered service application miming on the electronic device could transmit the digital ID to a remote server and retrieve additional information from these digital IDs with or without the use of a backend system. Events could be triggered and relevant audio-video content be presented to the user of the master service application or a registered service provider when digital IDs are received from the monitoring peripheral.

  • Publication number: 20040031061
Abstract: The invention, generally addresses problems associated with, for example, providing on a device having limited graphical, memory or processing capabilities, a “ticker” service, i.e. an automated display of textual information, such as news related items, news stories, stock prices, weather, sports information, etc., especially, for example, one over an interactive television medium. A system and method for providing a ticker service that implements a preferred embodiment of the invention is used to advantage in an interactive television medium. A viewer or subscriber is able to watch information displayed by the ticker service on his or her television, while watching regular television programming. In its preferred embodiment, the system does not degrade the performance of the interactive television network. This preferred embodiment also demonstrates an efficient user navigation mechanism for interacting with the service using, for example, a television remote control.

  • Publication number: 20040025190
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, a system and method for playing a game using video content as the game environment is disclosed. The video content may be provided from a video-on-demand system or using broadcast video signals. Depending on the object of the game, the player may try to hit, shoot or avoid specific objects in the video content environment. Those objects are identified at the time of authoring the game. During the game, a game application knows about the objects and can evaluate the performance of the player. Use of on-demand or live broadcast video source as the context environment for a game is disclosed. The game application is synchronized with the video content.
