  • Patent number: 6356162
Abstract: In an interconnection system including a cable and connectors, compensation is provided for stray reactances found in the connector elements. The connector elements may be RJ-style connector plug and jack pairs, which exhibit characteristic capacitive and inductive properties. The compensation is capacitive and/or inductive elements formed in the cable, components of the connectors, or an external printed wiring board. A double &pgr;-network is the preferred circuit topology for the compensated system.

  • Publication number: 20010045839
Abstract: A capacitor and an optical alignment pattern are provided on a printed wiring board (PWB) to permit a quick verification of electrical parameters, thereof. A method of verifying electrical parameters of a PWB measures a capacitance and optical alignment, without measuring performance by a circuit formed on the PWB.

  • Patent number: 5779503
Abstract: A high frequency electrical connector having a dielectric block onto which a terminal array of four pairs of electrical conductors are connected, the resulting assembly residing in a jack frame housing configured to removably receive a mating plug. The connector has a planar spring contact region for electrically contacting a corresponding planar contact region of the mating plug, a curved forefront region whereat non-electrical contact cross-overs of the terminal array conductors occurs, and a planar back region where reverse crosstalk is generated. The connector substantially compensates for crosstalk generated at the mating plug and connector contact regions. The configuration of the planar contact region of the mating plug and planar spring contact region of the connector is dictated by industry standards.

  • Patent number: 4354167
Abstract: A differentiation and distribution switching system for connecting selected ones of a plurality of subscriber lines for receiving a desired signal. The system comprises at least one differentiation circuit connected to an input signal, a removable support for the differentiation circuit, and a plurality of couplers connected to an output line of the differentiation circuit. A switch is connected to each coupler and an associated one of the subscriber lines, whereby to connect a signal on the output line to selected ones of the subscriber lines.
