  • Patent number: 5783873
Abstract: The architecture concerns a bus (BCM) incorporating magnetic coupling. The bus is structured in sections (S.sub.i-1, S.sub.i). The "coupler" elements (Bi) are disassociated from the "cable" elements (C.sub.b,i-1, C.sub.b,i) of the bus (B.sub.CM). The couplers (B.sub.i) themselves comprise a magnetic coupling module (1), constituted by passive elements, and an interface module (2) incorporating electronic interface circuits between the magnetic coupling module (1) and the subscribers (U.sub.i) by means of supplementary cables (C.sub.a,i). According to a first variant, the modules (1, 2) consist of single casings (10, 20) used as is or placed in a cascade configuration. According to a second embodiment, the modules are multiple and are placed in casings containing rectangular connectors for interconnection between casings.

  • Patent number: 5591040
Abstract: A temporary locking device for locking the base of a floating base type connector comprises a pair of jaws, each actuated by a control member. The latter comprises a pedal operating through the intermediary of a finger on a drive piston having two notches defining locked and unlocked stable positions of the jaws. The finger operates also on a cam whose head engages in the notches. The device also comprises a manual resetting knurled wheel. Applications include space applications.

  • Patent number: 5419723
Abstract: A female electrical contact comprises at least one flexible blade extending in a longitudinal direction and elastically deformable transversely to this longitudinal direction. It includes a contact member comprising the flexible blade or blades, a rear portion attached to the flexible blade or blades and an electrically conductive contact support. The rear part of the contact member and the contact support have complementary holding members which cooperate mechanically so that rotation of the contact member in at least one direction about its rear portion offsets its longitudinal axis relative to a nominal direction without significantly deforming the flexible blade or blades.

  • Patent number: 5318455
Abstract: An electrical connector portion fixable in a floating manner to a support (2) and including a body (1) that is polygonal in cross-section, with links (5, 13, 20) imparting six degrees of freedom to the body (1) relative to the support, and with a resilient return spring (12, 19, 22) for returning the body (1) to an equilibrium position relative to each degree of freedom. A first link arrangement (5) between the body (1) and the support (2) comprises a first link structure (6, 7) in rotation conferring degree of freedom in rotation about an axis (Y) perpendicular one to the coupling direction, and link structure (9, 10, 11) in translation conferring one degree of freedom in translation along an axis (Z) parallel to the coupling direction.

  • Patent number: 5302145
Abstract: The blade (12) is intended for a female contact for an electrical connector and arranged in order to extend into an elongate slot of a tubular socket of the contact by bearing against an external tube and by being engaged inside this socket and radially movable in an elastic fashion when a pin of an associated male contact is introduced into the socket. It comprises a central portion (13) bearing against the external tube, located between a tail end (7) and a contact end (9), which has a continuous longitudinal curvature of large radius and without folding so that the bearing surface.

  • Patent number: 5252087
Abstract: A polygonal section connector comprises a male portion (1) and a female portion (9) that are suitable for coupling together, each supported by a respective support, with at least one of said portions being supported in floating manner. The female portion and/or the male portion is/are provided with alignment means (7, 16; 8, 17) for aligning the male portion in the female portion. One of the connector portions is fitted with centering means for centering it relative to the other portion, which means are suitable for prepositioning said portion, even when presented with an offset and/or an inclination relative to the other portion. The alignment means comprise prealignment means for prealigning the male portion in the female portion and including a skirt (12) which is polygonal in section and designed to receive the male portion as precentered by the centering means. The skirt (12) and the male portion (1) are provided with complementary reliefs (7, 16) for prealigning the male portion in the skirt (12).

  • Patent number: 4717352
Abstract: The invention relates to a connection element between an electric connector and a connector contact. The element comprises a shank intended to receive the electric cable and an active contact part intended to ensure electric connection and mechanical cohesion with the contact. The active part at least is of conductive shape-memory material and is shaped in a manner to be able to tightly adapt to the contact in a first shape-memory state, and to be able to ensure the disengagement and/or engagement of the element in a second shape-memory state.Application to hermetic connectors and other non-demountable contact connectors.
