  • Patent number: 4040002
Abstract: A method and apparatus for depth shifting well logging data are described. Well logging data signals are converted to digital data words at intervals determined by well depth pulses representing incremental well depths. The digital data words typical for a number of down hole exploring devices are then placed in groups of shift registers for relative shift advancement to outputs where a desired well depth displacement between data words occurs. Shift control words associated with each well logging signal are read from programmable machine readable records to determine the relative shift advance of the digital data words. A recycling counting and comparing process provides for the programmed shift advance of the digital data words to provide desired depth alignment of the well logging data at the shift register outputs.
