  • Publication number: 20030037585
Abstract: A machine for high rate serial bending of a tube includes a bending head provided with a radius block and a backing block including, at the periphery, a groove with a semicircular cross-section and a driver for the backing block in rotation coaxial to the radius block, so as to drive the tube to be bent and wind it on the radius block. The radius block includes a disc including a beveled panel arranged along a chord of the disc and it includes device for moving the bending head relative to the axis of the tube along a path passing through the pins of the radius block and the backing block and a device for axially rotating the radius block independently from the displacement of the backing block.

  • Publication number: 20030029215
Abstract: The invention concerns a machine for bending and twisting flat metal wire for producing a motor vehicle wiper arm. It comprises means (3) feeding and maintaining the wire (2), and at least means (51) capable of gripping and releasing the wire (2) in output of the feeding and maintaining means (3), and which is, under the action of driving means associated with transmission means, mobile in several directions, rotating (V) about the axis (X) moving the wire (2), and moving, in one direction or another, in a direction (P) perpendicular to the surfaces (20) of the wire (2).

  • Publication number: 20030010084
Abstract: The invention concerns a wire bending device comprising a bending head (3) bearing two bending tools (30, 31) between which the wire to be bent (2) is passed, each of the tools being capable of being driven in rotation concentrically around the other which is then fixed It comprises: mechanical means (1) for moving the wire to be bent (2) axially in one direction or another (XA, XB); mechanical mans for driving the tools (30, 31) in rotation, in the two directions (YA, YB), about an axis (34) parallel to those (32, 33) of the tools (30, 31); mechanical means for moving in the two directions (ZA, ZB) the tools (30, 31) in a plane perpendicular to the axis (34) about which the latter can rotate; and calculating and controlling means for managing simultaneously the operation of the mechanical means so that the movements generated by the latter are superimposed.

  • Patent number: 5349838
Abstract: Apparatus for bending metal wires is disclosed including a cylindrical housing enclosing a rotatable cage which is mounted on a longitudinally extending arm pivotable about the axis of the wire itself, the rotatable cage being rotatable about a cage axis which is perpendicular to the axis of the wire. The apparatus includes a motor for rotating the rotatable cage about its axis, a plurality of tool carrying shafts which are mounted within the rotatable cage for slidable movement along their longitudinal axes between a rest position within the cage and an extended position in which the tool carried by the tool carrying shaft projects from the cage into the path of the metal wire, a jackscrew mounted on the housing for selectively actuating one of the tool carrying members and moving it from its rest position to its extended position, and a geared motor for rotating the selected one of the tool carrying shafts about its longitudinal axis.
