  • Patent number: 7915196
Abstract: A method of preparing a steam reforming catalyst characterized by improved resistance to attrition loss when used for cracking, reforming, water gas shift and gasification reactions on feedstock in a fluidized bed reactor, comprising: fabricating the ceramic support particle, coating a ceramic support by adding an aqueous solution of a precursor salt of a metal selected from the group consisting of Ni, Pt, Pd, Ru, Rh, Cr, Co, Mn, Mg, K, La and Fe and mixtures thereof to the ceramic support and calcining the coated ceramic in air to convert the metal salts to metal oxides.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 7, 2005
Date of Patent: March 29, 2011
Assignee: Alliance for Sustainable Energy, LLC
Inventors: Yves O. Parent, Kim Magrini, Steven M. Landin, Marcus A. Ritland

  • Patent number: 5292701
Abstract: Aluminum phosphate compositions are provided which are characterized simultaneously by high porosity and phosphorous-to-aluminum ratios of approximately 1.0. The high porosity of these compositions is a function of high pore volume coupled with low surface area, resulting in high average pore diameter. These materials have excellent properties as catalysts and catalyst supports. Methods of making the compositions are also provided.

  • Patent number: 4684530
Abstract: Protein may be removed from fluids by adsorption onto inorganic oxide-silica cogels. Preferred cogels are silica alumina and silica magnesia activated so that the cogel surface is in acid form, with H.sub.0 values less than the pH of the protein-containing fluid which, in turn, is less than the isoelectric point of the protein. The method is particularly effective for removing haze-forming proteins from wine.

  • Patent number: 4629588
Abstract: Adsorbents comprising amorphous silicas with effective average pore diameters of about 60 to about 5000 Angstroms are useful in processes for the removal of trace contaminants, specifically phospholipids and associated metal ions, from glyceride oils.
