Patent number: 11938960Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for controlling one or more vehicles with the use of navigation markers positioned or integrated into a ground surface. A vehicle, such as an autonomous vehicle, may include a light detection assembly, which may include a light emitter, an optical filter, an optical sensor, and an analog-to-digital converter, and optionally may include a lens. The light emitter may emit light towards the ground surface which may illuminate the navigation marker and cause the navigation marker to emit light passes through the optical filter and is ultimately sensed by the optical sensor. The vehicle may determine the light was emitted by the navigation marker and cause the vehicle to perform the predetermined action.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2021Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Adam Joseph Greenbaum, Yvetta Pols Sandhu, Gregory Cartagena

Patent number: 10677420Abstract: Optical components for lighting devices and lighting devices including such components are described. In some embodiments the optical components are in the form of a lens that alter the distribution of light produced by a lighting fixture. In some embodiments, the lenses are in the form of a downlight to wallwash lens which, when placed in a downlight fixture, convert the light distribution to that of a wallwash fixture, e.g., causing the downlight to produce an off-axis light distribution, without changing the fixture. The lens includes a body with a light source facing side and an opposite room facing side having two optically active regions, each including structures that redirect a portion of light received through the light source facing side and incident thereon. The first region includes structures that redirect, via refraction, and the second region includes structures that redirect, in part via total internal reflection.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2018Date of Patent: June 9, 2020Assignee: OSRAM SYLVANIA Inc.Inventors: Bruce Radl, Zhuo Wang, Yvetta Pols Sandhu

Patent number: 10119272Abstract: A structure installed at a station can include an interference member held above a mobile drive unit area of the station. The interference member can be positioned to allow an inventory holder and a mobile drive unit to pass underneath. The interference member can also be positioned to contact a topside of the inventory holder to prevent the inventory holder from tipping into a worker area of the station that is adjacent to the mobile drive unit area.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 2017Date of Patent: November 6, 2018Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Ashish Shah, Amy Demicco, Curtis H.
