  • Publication number: 20070258627
Abstract: A method of automatically recognizing a human face includes developing a three-dimensional model of a face; and generating a number of two-dimensional images based on the three-dimensional model. The generated two-dimensional images are then enrolled in a database and searched against an input image to identifying the face of the input image.

  • Publication number: 20060072014
Abstract: An improved optical sensor comprising at least one optical camera for collecting intelligence data, a control station associated with at least one of said cameras for detecting activities to be monitored and for selectively activating at least one of said cameras, and a computerized data processing apparatus for substantially reducing data transmission bandwidth requirements by preprocessing at least some of said intelligence data at said camera site before transmission from said surveillance camera to one or more remote control stations.

  • Publication number: 20050096515
Abstract: A patient surface image guided therapy process includes the steps of acquiring a three-dimensional reference image of an area to be treated, acquiring a three-dimensional treatment image of the area to be treated; matching the reference image to the treatment image; and calculating any differences between the reference image and the treatment images to generate patient repositioning parameters.

  • Publication number: 20050088529
Abstract: A method for acquiring a surface profile 3D data set of an object includes illuminating a surface of the object with a sequence of multiple rainbow projection (MRP) structural light patterns, capturing light reflected from the object, and calculating 3D data (X, Y, Z) for each visible point on the object based upon triangulation mathematical principles of the captured reflected light.

  • Publication number: 20050089213
Abstract: An imaging method and system for 3D modeling of a 3D surface forms a mosaic from multiple uncalibrated 3D images, without relying on camera position data to merge the 3D images. The system forms the 3D model by merging two 3D images to form a mosaiced image, merging the mosaiced image with another 3D image, and repeating the merging process with new 3D images one by one until the 3D model is complete. The images are aligned in a common coordinate system via spatial transformation.

  • Publication number: 20050088515
Abstract: The present invention provides methods, systems, and apparatuses for three-dimensional (3D) imaging. The present methods, systems, and apparatuses provide 3D surface imaging using a camera ring configuration. According to one of many possible embodiments, a method for acquiring a three-dimensional (3D) surface image of a 3D object is provided. The method includes the steps of: positioning cameras in a circular array surrounding the 3D object; calibrating the cameras in a coordinate system; acquiring two-dimensional (2D) images with the cameras; extracting silhouettes from the 2D images; and constructing a 3D model of the 3D object based on intersections of the silhouettes.

  • Publication number: 20050089822
Abstract: The present specification describes systems and methods for interactive three-dimensional dental imaging. More specifically, the present methods and systems provide for interactive computer-aided design (CAD) in dental applications. According to one of many possible embodiments, an interactive dental computer-aided design (CAD) system includes a graphical user interface for displaying at least one three-dimensional (3D) image for viewing by an operator, an access interface for receiving input from the operator, and a prosthesis design module providing design tools for creating a virtual 3D model of a dental prosthesis responsive to operator input.
