  • Patent number: 9503131
Abstract: An antenna for communicating with a remote communication system. The antenna comprises main and sub reflectors, a beam shaping element facing the sub reflector and having a plurality of feeding points, a plurality of ortho-mode transducers (OMTs), and a plurality of waveguides each having a proximal end connected to another of the plurality of OMTs and a distal end connected to one of the plurality of feeding points. The beam shaping element is sized and shaped to form an ellipsoidal beam creating a first elliptical spot on the sub reflector by combining a plurality of polarized intermediate transmission signals; each of the polarized intermediate transmission signals is originated from another of the plurality of OMTs.

  • Patent number: 8228253
Abstract: An antenna for communicating with a satellite from a moving vehicle. The antenna comprises a transmitter for generating a transmission signal, main and sub reflectors, and a waveguide associated with the transmitter for conducting the transmission signal toward the sub reflector. The sub reflector is configured for redirecting the transmission signal toward the main reflector; the main reflector is configured for projecting the redirected transmission signal as an antenna beam toward the satellite.

  • Publication number: 20120013515
Abstract: A rotating antenna for radio frequency (RF) communication. The antenna comprises a pedestal and a rotating base supporting at least one antenna reflector and an RF transmission/reception unit, the pedestal and the rotating base being parallelly mounted, a rotary joint positioned to allow a transmission of radio frequency (RF) signals between the rotating base and the pedestal during a rotational motion of one relative to the other around a rotation axis, an encoder set to follow the rotational motion, a plurality slip rings positioned to encircle a vertical profile of the rotary joint between the pedestal and the rotating base so that an electric contact is maintained therebetween during the rotational motion, and an annular bearing positioned to radially encompass the encoder and the plurality slip rings around the rotation axis and to constrain the rotational motion.

  • Patent number: 4964598
Abstract: A remotely-controlled aircraft comprises a sensor for sensing the actual rate-of-turn of the aircraft and for generating a rate-of-turn signal proportional thereto, which signal, inherently also proportional to the actual bank-angle of the aircraft, is applied to the aileron drive as a negative feedback signal with the bank-angle command signal to thereby stabilize the bank-angle of the aircraft. The aircraft includes a further sensor for sensing the actual rate-of-climb of the aircraft and for generating a rate-of-climb signal proportional thereto, which latter signal, inherently also proportional to the actual pitch-angle of the aircfaft, is applied to the elevator drive as a negative feedback signal with the pitch-angle command signal to thereby stabilize the pitch-angle of the aircraft.
