  • Publication number: 20240092397
Abstract: A modified Kalman filter may include one or more neural networks to augment or replace components of the Kalman filter in such a way that the human interpretability of the filter's inner functions is preserved. The neural networks may include a neural network to account for bias in measurement data, a neural network to account for unknown controls in predicting a state of an object, a neural network ensemble that is trained differently based on different sensor data, a neural network for determining the Kalman gain, and/or a set of Kalman filters including various neural networks that determine independent estimated states, which may be fused using Bayesian fusion to determine a final estimated state.

  • Patent number: 11851346
Abstract: An embodiment provides A method for making a non-hazardous iron product for treating wastewater, including: adding sodium bisulfite to a solution comprising iron, creating an aqueous solution; adding an amount of sodium hydroxide to the aqueous solution to increase the pH of the aqueous solution to between 2-2.5; determining an amount of sodium bicarbonate and adding the identified amount of sodium bicarbonate to the aqueous solution, wherein the sodium bicarbonate adjusts the pH of the aqueous solution to a desired pH; and providing a buffer to the aqueous solution to generate a slurry. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20210197126
Abstract: Disclosed is a high-penetration two-component polyurethane adhesive for separation apparatus, such as thin film composite reverse osmosis filtration membranes. The polyisocyanate reactive side of the two-component adhesive comprises hydrogenated castor oil or derivative thereof to increase the viscosity and provide a thixotropic property. Surprisingly, these high-viscosity polyisocyanate reactive components provide a two-component polyurethane adhesive exhibiting excellent penetration of the membranes used in such separation apparatus. Also disclosed is a method of using these two component polyurethane adhesives to bond these membranes to one or more other components of a separation apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20210198471
Abstract: Disclosed is a two-component curable polymeric system having increased viscosity. One component contains a homogeneous blend of a polyisocyanate and a homopolymer or copolymer of vinyl acetate. This component has a higher viscosity than the polyisocyanate alone, thereby increasing the viscosity of the two-component curable system. The other component of the two-component curable system is a composition containing an isocyanate reactive component. The polyisocyanate and the isocyanate reactive component react together (“cure”) to form a polymer. Typically, but not always, the isocyanate reactive component is a polyol or polyamine that is capable of reacting with the polyisocyanate, thereby forming a polyurethane (polyol) or polyurea (polyamine).

  • Publication number: 20130159207
Abstract: A system and method of identifying a location in a package and mail delivery system includes inputting a location coordinate into a conversion system having a grid data set, and determining the grid unit that contains the location coordinate. The conversion system divides the Earth's surface into a progressive grid system assigning the position of the location coordinate, and then further dividing the grid into increasingly smaller grid units until a precise identifier is determined for the input location coordinate. The determined identifier for said input location coordinate is output for use in package and mail delivery systems.
